Either the impending holiday distracted you (what? you'd rather go swimming and BBQ and shoot fireworks than sit at the computer and try to answer movie trivia? Bah... scoff!), or I finally stumped some of you.
But not Donna! She's ridin' the wave, two Threes wins in row this week! (If she nails this afternoon's Freeze Frame Threes, she'd be the FIRST to bring home the Threes Triple Crown/Hat Trick in the SAME week!)
Donna gets to make the construction-paper medal, to match her medal from Tuesday's win, while ejb and Jared came in second and third (sorry, no paper medals for the runners up).
Meanwhile, if you're still not sure what actor was in Sphere, Bringing Out the Dead, and The Country Bears, just light the candle and launch the Inviso-Text!
Yes, it was Dana Owens, better known as The Queen! Ms. Latifah is back in theaters this weekend as the voice of Ellie the Woolly Mammoth in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
The Queen added acting to rapping back in the early '90s starring in Fox's Living Single sitcom, and appearing in films like Jungle Fever, House Party 2, Juice, and Set It Off. And no, I was not going to give you a clue like Chicago (for which she won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar) or Bringing Down the House, or Barbershop 2--I gotta try to make these quizzes challenging!
In Martin Scorsese's Bringing Out the Dead, Latifah provided the voice of the dispatcher who worked with Nic Cage's ambulance driver lead. (Okay, that one was a little tricky, I admit.) In the woe begotten Sphere she played a Navy tech worker.
Now, while she played Cha-Cha in The Country Bears, I can't tell you what the role entailed because, like most right-thinking folks, I've never gotten drunk enough to watch The Country Bears. (It's the film adaptation of the now-closed Disneyland ride that starred Haley Joel Osment as a young musical bear and Christopher Walken as the villain.) I'm sure someone out there has seen it--care to enlighten us further?
The answer is Samuel L Jackson
