It really is a crying shame. The more I think about what might have been, the more depressed I get. However, I'm bracing for the inevitable onslaught of "You're crazy, it was awesome!" comments. Though from what I've seen, most critics feel the same way that I did, at least.

Well written Erika. I saw it last night with my best friend and on the drive home I felt like I had been duped.

For a movie sponsored by a toy company and aimed at children, I was abhorred at the language and sources of humor (racial stereotypes, fart jokes etc.). I'm only 23 and I was embarrassed that grown men wrote this movie, and appear to be proud of it.

OK, this is good to hear. I didn't want to see the first one and put it off for months, but was actually pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. I've been pretty excited to see the 2nd one, but after reading this I think I'll pass, or at least wait until it's a cheap rental.

You should give writing lessons to James Rocchi, who apparently can't dislike a movie without giving away the ending.

Warren, it would be impossible to give away the ending of Transformers 2, as it's impossible to tell what HAPPENED at the end. I saw the film 12 hours ago and I'm having trouble recalling much about the plot.

I don't know Ithink I'll go see it anyway. I find that even if one person does not like something does not mean that other will not like it. There has been times that after see a movie that he doesn't like i find that I like it. so I what and see for myself. not everone has the same thoughts about movies

During entire film I kept thinking, "this isn't as good as the first one" and I was disappointed while watching that I wasn't having the same buzz of "OMFG" I had on opening day back in 2007.


I do have to say though that after I left the theater, and got home. I had fun remembering the great parts of the movie, in pieces while talking with my family. Like the mom on campus, or the mini toy-car-bot, or the non decepticon-decepticon, or the crazy hot girl at school, or the return of S-7 guy (although I could have gone without seeing is butt! seriously)


I went in with a gut feeling that this movie wouldn't touch the first one, and was able to leave appreciating the good parts, as confusing as all the history was.


Also did anyone else get completely dizzy when Sam and McKayla were having their "why wont you say i love you scene" out front? I felt like I was reading in the car which I know makes me sick to my stomach.

Yes, I also got dizzy during the 'say i love you' scene... I can't imagine who wouldn't! That was part of the "circling" camerawork I was talking about at the beginning of the post. Too much!

I felt EXACTLY the same as you, Erika. I was very excited to see this movie, but not once could I get submersed in the movie because a) I couldn't follow what was going on or b) I couldn't believe that an advanced alien race of robots would act like poor imitations of a worn out stereotype. I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to movies because I liked to be entertained, but I thought Transformers 2 was just flat out ridiculous too often to appreciate.

I saw this last night with my husband and brother in law, and in the first moments my husband whispered to me
"It doesn't even matter what the story is..." as the bots battled on.
Little did we know it would live up to that expectation. I also was nauseated from the "say you love me" scenes, but not necessarily from the camera work...

it was a sequel......and that means......not as good as the first....we ALL know that-----right?

but it was toooooooooooo much!!!!

I was mainly disappointing with the adult content. There is absolutely no reason to have young women dressing and acting so seductive throughout a movie based on a popular children's franchise. Everyone and thier brother knows that kids are going to see this, to show women in such a light and many of the crude and racial jokes was irresponsible of Bay and Dreamworks Entertainment.

This is a simple case of having high expectations and the movie not living up to those expectations. I watched the movie Sunday and just yesterday watched the commercials and previews/trailers for the first time. The commercials and previews/trailers where to good and gave everyone high expectations (First movie was great so the second had to be great as well) for this movie.

I got queezy during the "I love you scene", and few times could not follow the fighting scenes with everything looking the same.

But my expectations were not as high, and I came out of the movie thinking it was good. Of course later I actually had to think out what the plot was.......lol

Do I recommend it? Sure, but if your expectations are extremely high, how can any movie live up to that?

transformers was awsome just like the first one and i cant wait for the 3rd i guess if you didnt grow up with the cartoon you might not like it but all in all i thought the movie was great. people complaining about the twins is just plan dumb they were fun and thats all they were ment to be. good job bay cant wait for 3

Hmm go figure.. I actually enjoyed it.. I went in expecting to see robots beating the crap out of each other and I got what I came for... it's pretty much the first movie, IMHO .. except with more battles 'n such. ...For all the 'bad' reviews you people seem to be writting, there seems to be enough people like me who are still going to see it.. as it's earned well over $201 million

I totally agree with this review. I walked out of the theater so angry at wasting 2 1/2 hours of my day, but I couldn't convey to my family exactly what it was that I hated about this movie. I suppose because it was so many things it was hard to count. This review states everything I hated about this movie and then some - starting with 1) which is 2 hours of non-stop action with maybe a 1/2 hour of (stupid) plot thrown in as an after-thought. 2) The crude, juvenile humor - dogs humping, multiple testicle jokes 3) the demeaning role given to Megan Fox's character - she was relegated to short-shorts, boobs hanging out and following Shia all the way to Egypt just to hear him say the big 'L' word. Puh-lease!

Doesn't matter. If you want love, go watch Twighlight. Bay sprinkled just enough dialogue between the characters to keep them in check but we all got to see what we came for. Robots fighting robots w/ large explosions and amazing special effects. That's why its called "Transformers". Its an action movie but I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion. My opinion is GO SEE IT! It still makes you awe at the magic of movies.

HOWEVER, I was disappointed with the lack of introduction to new lead Decepticons and what they transformed into. A cave man like Decepticon wasn't the idea was hoping for. I was thinking the battleship would transform or something. Maybe that giant d-bag in the front row who wouldn't stop talking would transform into an empty seat.

What about Voltron the movie?

Too right, this movie was a total let down. There was so much reference to the male anatomy that I thought I was watching SuperBad or American Pie. There was next to nothing for a story line and the drug use, dogs humping, annoying twins, swearing, and co-star leg humping robot was proof that noone working on the film had ever really read the Transformers comics or seen a cartoon. It was like a bunch of closet freaks decided to write a kids' movie only to show off their sick fantasies. Unfortunately, I took my two young children to this movie, which made me feel like not much of a father figure. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN!!!!

I don't understand all these negative comments. My 16 year old son and I have gone to see it twice and he still wants to go back and watch it again. The second time we went with his 25 year old brother and he really liked it. It was a great movie. Very entertaining. I guess everyone gets what they wish for. If you go in and expect to be dissapointed then you will be dissapointed. We knew we were going to enjoy it from watching the previews and they didn't let us down.

This movie was terrible-- a far cry from what made Transformers such a beloved franchise. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong in this film: confusing plot, lack of characterization, overloaded sexual innuendo, robots cursing and humping, parental drug use.. UGH. And since when does a Decepticon transform into a human college student? Good grief. I came out of the theater not just disappointed, but completely disgusted. Not only am I not recommending this movie-- I am proactively telling people to avoid it at all costs.

The Movie was the bomb , action packed from start to finish . A MUST SEE MOVIE . Im going to go see it for the second time .

What was that?? A review or an obituary for some guy who used to beet you up in highschool.. Yea, I admit.. Speaking as an old G1 fan, Michael Bay has disapointed me on several layers. Not the least of which being that Bay himself called the original Transformers cartoon a horrible example of sat. morning cartoons. Why was he picked for this then, Im sure we'd all like to know the answer to that one...

But this is a new Transformers.. Its not G1.. Like Beastwars and Armada, the Transformers franchise has been taken in a new direction. Live action... And for one, I like explosions!!! Hence why I go see, an ACTION movie.. The special affects were well done.. The plot, simple but not over done.. If you didnt catch it while watching this movie, then I suggest you go see it again before drinking or snorting up.. The fallen was one of the original Transformers, who needed Megatron to destroy Prime, so he could come back to earth and destroy its sun for energon.. Which of coarse is what keeps the big bots alive.
I dont want to go into any more detail about the movie, but I would like to say that the movie is rated PG13, not for kids under the age of 13. So if your saying, well that was an awful lot of swearing.. Thats why we have ratings.... This isnt a kid movie, it was designed to attract the kids who had grown up watching Transformers. I agree, I could have dobne without Wheelie humping someones leg, and the word bit@# used a lil less. (But Hey) Its just my opinion. And we all have different opinions. bay could have brought jazz back as well, and maybe not have let megs seem like such a wuss this time around..
But all in all, this movie, to ME..
Made me laugh (several times), made me glad to be a man (Wolf whistle, and also made me angry and sad to see Prime go down..
From start to finish I couldnt let my attention off the movie!
Sequals are made to dive deeper into a chacters personality to pick up where the last one ended.. And i look forward to this one..

Our family was excited for the release of Transformers II, as we called it. However, after the poor reviews from friends who have seen it we are going to sadly pass on it. No need to pay good money and spend valuable time to submit ourselves to vulgar language and cheap embarrassing scenes. Wow, that is the best Hollywood can offer? Disappointed

The reviews from the 2nd Transformers movie has varied, but mostly I've read how disappointed everyone was after seeing it. I saw the first Transformers the first day it came out and thought that it was the best movie I had seen in a long time, maybe ever. I was anticipating this one so much that I went to see the midnight showing the first night. I left the movie thinking that it was not as good as the first, but I still enjoyed it.

I think the comments about the language and "racially offensive" material are a bit far fetched though. Yes, this movie was based on a children's cartoon, but it was nonetheless made for an adult audience. The movie is rated PG-13 and if you can find 13 year olds who don't know about marijuana and haven't heard a few curse words in their day, then you may be from Cybertron! You hear cursing on broadcast television everyday, so don't get offended when an action movie throws around a few. And as far as the twin robots, whose to say that Cybertron doesn't have a few idiots on it's planet. Surely each Autobot isn't as highly advanced as the next, just as any other civilization! Last time I checked, the robots got their language from the web, so if you have unintelligent robots then they may find unintelligent material to form their language. All in all, the twins were hilarious, so get off their metal nuts!

I do agree that the fight scenes, although intense, were hard to follow when it wasn't the original Autobots vs. Decepticons. The addition of the new robots made it hard to distinguish the good guys from the bad guys.

I enjoyed the movie, albeit not as much as the first. I can't wait to see the next one!

p.s. For everyone who's confused about the robot being the college student, obviously you didn't hear the beginning when Optimus said that the robots had become far more advanced and hid better.

I'm the owner of Seibertron.com (http://www.seibertron.com), one of the largest Transformers fan sites on the Internet. It pains me to say this, but Erika's review unfortunately summed up my thoughts about a movie which I had been really looking forward to. What frustrates me more is that the sheer amount of money the movie folks made with this film will most likely encourage them even further to pull the same kind of antics with a 3rd flick. I can only hope (pray?) that someone in charge will understand the collective concerns shared by the reviews I've read about ROTF.

Movies are for entertainment and this movie entertains.I'm not looking to be 'moved' by this type of flic, I just want to have fun. I didn't look at my watch once to see how much time was left, that's a huge indicator to me that this movie hit the right buttons, and judging from the box office this last weekend, it did so for most of the country. Go see it and have a good time!

For all the ones that say it sucked and were disappointed...I'm afraid the box office results disagree with you. I've seen it twice and LOVED it. I also have this question...what would YOU have done different, since you're the professional? It's a movie about fighting robots and that's exactly what we got. I'm very happy!

I personally thought the movie was great. I still love Shia and I think that the movie was very entertaining. I would go see this again and would recommend it whole-heartedly. Shia is a great actor and did the best he could with the script that he was given (as usual). Everyone has there own opinions.

My daughter enjoyed it also. But I would have to agree that I did get a headache because at times it seemed as if everything was moving too fast for my eyes to catch up. Other than that did I say I LOVED THE MOVIE & I can't wait until Part 3 comes out.

All the critics have given this movie a bad review as if they was paid to do so. I also feel like its a conspiracy going on against Michael Bay. Even the critics are given out mis-information about the movie it still made closed to half of billion dollars just in 6 days. The fans love the movie and most agree that it was better than the first one.

Everyone that hates it should of seen it in IMAX also if it were for a bunch of uptight people that thought it wasn't mature enough for 23 year olds maybe they shouldn't of seen a movie that was rated PG13 for kids to see and is also based on a toy for kids. The was sick go see it!!!!!!!!!!

I have found that those who did not get this story, or plot. are simply not capable of connecting dots, these are the kids in class that turned a star into a flaming ball of dung and then became movie critics. Doesn't anyone else get that a critic does'nt get that people just want to be entertained and that we aren't all looking for the next oscar winning film( this is because the oscars' are bs) the plot was cake to follow, and pretty well done. (note: not an avid transformers fan), the fight scenes were awesome, and I enjoyed everything about it accept the crude humor and way too much sleazy skin, and I am a guy, which is saying a lot. if I were you and even if you aren't a perv, you should see this movie.

UNBE-LIEVABLE!!!!! I cannot believe the hate parade I am seeing. Somebody writes a so so review of a movie and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Bunch of haters. Always trying to read to far into things. This wasn't "The English Patient" it was "Transformers". Damn! This is a great summer blockbuster. Plain and simple.

I thought the movie was just as good as the first one. Plenty of action, adventure, thrill, comedy, niiiice! The box office numbers speak for themselves.

Like I said before this movie have made closed to half of billion dollars with all the bad reviews. For the ones who have not seen this movie see it for yourself to make your own judgement. My brother love orange juice but I dont but that do not mean that Orange juice is bad for you. What is your taste?

What a great review. I appreciate that you mentioned the twins, as they were my biggest problem with the movie. I also agree that when you can't tell who's who in a muddled mess of metal, it impedes one's ability to enjoy a fight sequence, as good as they all looked.

But yeah, you were pretty much dead on. I couldn't follow it and I didn't give half a damn about his stupid college friend, who really didn't need to be there.

I'm a father of 4. I'm a big fan of "Transformers". After reviewing the negative comments about the movie it causes me to rethink about taking my kids. Here's a thought, if this movie isn't recommended for kids it really isn't recommended for this dad.

My family and I loved it as much as we loved the first one. I didn't find the plot confusing and the humor elicited a strong positive response from the audience (something many college kids fear is their parents showing up and embarassing them). As for comments about the twins being racial stereotypes, let me say that I know plenty of white people who talk and behave in that manner...perhaps the immediate assumption that this is stereotyping African American culture suggests that you yourself have stereotyped it.

They brought in some plots from the original transformers movie (the matrix) and from the series. The twins were not "racial", there is every ethnicity that has people in it's culture that act like that. Was there bad language? Yes there was. I believe it had a PG-13 rating and it said there was language in it. If you dont check the rating and take your kid to see it, you really dont have a right to complain. It's kinda like x-men, or spider-man...or TMNT - you might think they are geared toward kids, but really they are more geared 16+. Cause quite frankly that's who they make their money off from. If they made it have no language and nothing "offensive" - then those people wouldnt go watch it and the movie truly would have bombed.

Hey buddy I do agree with you. I have two kids myself and yes its not recommended for young kids. But, at the same time I LOVE the movie and I truly understand what Michael Bay was trying to do in this film. In the first movie it look as if PRIME was weak to be a leader, The second movie he did not take no prisoner. Like Prime said "THESE PUNK ASS DECEPTICONS"

Anything negative said about this movie is more than insane. This movie goes down as one of my top five favorite sci-fi movies of all time. Nothing was nauseating(sp?) or poorly done at all. I'm a HUGE critic of movies and thinks that the rest of the summer movies to come will have a VERY hard time competing against such a brilliantly put together movie. I think our writer Erika has poorly criticized this movie and must have a weak stomach or senses or something. I think this movie was definitely a HUGE treat for the eyes and I went to see it in Imax near the middle of the theater! It's a MUST see for anyone that appreciates special effects, spectacular fighting scenes(even though they're robots), and one of the most beautiful newcomers to the movie screen(Meagan Fox). It's worth every penny spent to go see it and I would see it 3x in theaters alone. No offense Erika :)

It wasn't as good as the first one.

But if your expecting a movie about collage kids, transforming fighting robots,loud music and in your face special effects; then you won't be disappointed.

If your expecting a movie that you can "relate" to then you'll be disappointed.

I've seen the movie twice now, and i have to say i love it! The humor in this movie isnt for the faint hearted but you still have to laugh at the part when "he" says he is directly under the robots scrotum, i mean come on unless you live under a rock or have zero humor you had to laugh at most the movie, and for the people who dont like all the new forms the bots took, who are you to decide what the movie should consist of? where is your imagination? did you leave it under that rock with your sence of humor? people the movie was ment for entertainment, so either sit and be entertained, or stay home and watch Dr. Zhivago

I disagree. I think the movie was awesome. Who cares about the plot?? Think about it, it is far fetched and not real anyways. The action and effects is what matters in this type of story!!!!! Everyone go see this movie!!!

I liked the movie. not as good as the first tho. but they need to move away from shia and dare i say it, meg fox on the next movie. develop the transformer characters more.
as for disappointments in movies, wolverine movie takes top spot.

The "twins" were NOT fun at all. I knew before going into the theater that people weren't happy about the "twins" and I just chalked it up to over-sensitive whining, but HOLY CRAP they weren't joking! These guys "talk ghetto", have gold buck teeth, big ears, are constantly trading blows and calling other people "pussies" and such, and, get this, CAN'T READ. Yeah, hilarious *rolls eyes*
The fart jokes got old immediately, and what was with the dogs humping each other? And the little robot humping Megan Fox's leg? WTF? Mrs. Witwicky eating the "magic brownies" was just embarrassing and cheap. The only people in the theater laughing at that crap were the 7 year olds.
I loved the first Transformers, but this one was just DUMB. I couldn't wait to get out of the theater.

Anyone that feels they got ripped off for paying $10 to see this two and a half hour movie is probably retarded. It is an action flick with a good amount of comedy. For those that complain about the sexual undertones and apparent language...they must have forgotten about the first movie. There was the same amount in that one. But to only pay $10 to be totally entertained for over two hours is a great deal!!!

If you liked the first movie and like to be entertained you should enjoy this movie too. If you go into the theater and try to overthink the plot and over analyze everything you have forgotten that this is a movie based upon a cartoon and Hasbro toys. Just sit back, watch the movie, enjoy the special effects, laugh at the jokes, remember it is rated PG-13 for violence, language, and some sexual situations, grab a bucket of popcorn, and be entertained for almost three hours for around $10.

I think the movie was fine. It just depends on what you were expecting. Its funny to me how some think the two little robots were racists. It is what it is. Every "group" has distinct characteristics, deal with it. Not everyone one whines about being joked about. Its all in good fun unless you are just the kind to make it into something it is not.

I took my son to see this movie because he loved the first one. As far as the action went, it was ok by me, but i was very upset with the language. I even went and bought the first one to see if there was as much swearing in that one and i had just blocked it from my memory. Some of the more crude jokes and drug stuff was over my son's head, but hey the stupid humor was perfect for a 9 year old boy; they are all about fart jokes. I thought all in all the movie was ok, but i was very dissapointed.

Action packed!!!! Lots of action. I agree about some scenes, it was hard to vision what exactly was happening on screen; however, the action was ongoing. Its a excellent action movie. I can't wait until its on Blu-ray so I could see it on my home theater!

This is a guy movie. There are big fighting robots, that I grew up watching only on cartoons (the toys were too expensive). I found the movie great! It was a nice nostalgic break from reality. If you don't overthink a fighting robot movie, it's very enjoyable. The Transformer tickets were a great belated Father's day gift. Was that a Corvette prototype?

Everyone has their own opinions... Bash me all day if u must... But I had a BLAST seeing the movie!!! Though I do agree it was hard to follow which robots were on which side, but all in all it was AWESOME!!!

I REALLY could not have said it better myself. I was on the verge of walking out the whole time. I am 18 years old, and I sat there thinking "My parents wouldn't want me here." The two and a half hours of my life, that I'll never get back, could have easily been cut down to an hour and 45 minutes.

The action is captivating at points, but, on this Blockbuster, the crap takes the cake.

I understand the frustration of looking for realisum in movie entertainment but then I realized many years ago, why look for realisum in an impossible story and technology often displayed in Action films? Why do we go to the movies in the first place? To be entertained, we all know a magic show is fake, there is no real magic, its all trap doors, foney props, mirros, smoke, dark back grounds to hide the truth yet we love magic shows, its entertainment. If you want "truth" and realisum in a movie you are wasting your time and money. I love most Action films because they give me a break from "real life". I want to be amazed and laugh at korny jokes and situations, be shocked at fight scenes! We should applaude Hollywood for making these outlandish films, one thing is though its not nessessary to have adult or rude language in them, we all get that in "real life". We need a break from that as well. It is a fact that high grossing films don't have to have the adult stuff in them to make money for the share holders who finance them. If you want truth, look into Theology, the Ten Commandments, there you will find so much truth you will no longer need to see it in a fantasy film. I loved the movie...i did not mind it all... the only bad thing was that it was a little long...but over all it was GREAT!

Obviously some people don't know what a good movie is until it smacks them in the face. You all would rather watch crap like Benjamin Button and Hary Potter. Transformers 2 delivered everything i was expecting, more fighting scenes, more bots, funny jokes, and even a better looking Megan Fox! I walked out of the theater wanting to buy another ticket for the next available show!
Granted the movie was a little longer and a little more adult content. But for you parents out there, ticked off about the movie not being "family oriented", Your kid hears far more crap in school and with their friends than they ever would seeing this movie. So just shut up!

We've all read the never ending complaints and likes but remember that no one can truly give you a look at the movie thru words, just you. I thought the movie was pretty nice and very nice graphics, the new transformer add ons were great, the moto bikes and the corvetter were all pretty nice to watch. I liked that the leader of the autobots was killed but if you can bring one back how can they explain if they brought them all back, I mean how did megatron get his leg back after being ripped apart as we saw in the first movie, there were many unseen and unexplained scenes but all in all I think the movie was fun to watch but will all movies you have complains and likes, but the one that got my most votes was the leading lady, now you say hot I say to hot to handle with those eyes. Now you tell me why this lady in all her roles just can't find a man.

As many of the blogs here there was one part I truly did not enjoy about this movie and if they were trying to make us laugh by watching the former Sector 7 comedian in his S 7 white speedos or what ever in the world it was focused on his rear end, I was not pleased about seeing this on the big screen, specially that they focused the camera on it for about 5 to 10 seconds, now come on, didn't the writers ever imagine there would be young kids there and what type of a message they are trying to send, my two kids right away didn't even laugh at this as the older adults did and they asked why did they do that, meaning the movie writers and camera operators. One true complaint about this movie is, I would NOT take my kids to see it. It should be labeled with an age specific audience.

No points for the writers on this one.

I don't understand all the people that were confused by the plot or the different robots fighting. I had no problem at all with any of that.
To those that were looking for a deep and meaningful plot you went to the wrong movie. It's Transformers for crying out loud. It is what it is. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it a terrible movie.
And of course the movie isn't intended for little kids, it's PG-13! There is a reason its rated the way it is so stop complaining about your little kids seeing it!
This movie is about robots and fighting and explosions and Fox in skimpy shorts so just sit and enjoy it! If you want plot go watch Forrest Gump.

I cant believe anyone would like this movie. I am a transformers fan. I really enjoy Micheal Bay movies, action, humor and entertainment. I enjoyed the first one and was looking forward to the sequel. Yet this one didn't have to be better than the original and it didn't have to be deep and emotionally compelling drama. The movie just really stunk. Some people who commented said it is an action movie, meaning that if things blew up and there were chase scenes and boobs in slow motion it would somehow live up to the action movie genre. There are plenty of action movies that have good plots and realistic and engaging dialogue like...well the first movie. Iron Man to name another movie. So the excuse that it is an action summer blockbuster cannot be used to make this movie passable. I agree with the authors criticism of the film, it was dead on. The film had its moments, but if all the crap was edited out, you would've had about a half hours worth of film. This movie felt as if someone thought of a bunch of cool cgi, characters and action sequences and then tried to tie them all loosely together with an incomprehensible plot. In the end you have to have a good plot and story that are enhanced by great cgi, jokes and the like. As to the previous comment saying it has to be a good movie because it has made so much money, please, its making the cash on the reputation of the first movie and the trailers that make the movie appear awesome. If someone with any decision making power reads these types of posts do not ruin what could be a great franchise. Later.

I thought the movie was fantastic. The humor honestly wasn't that crude compared to half of the holly wood market. And as for the blog writer's first paragraph, It's an action movie, so I mean I guess if you are in your seventies and have some sort of epilepsy then the movie would have been rough for you. And to over half of the comments on here: confusing plot??!?! I am honestly, not trying to be a jerk or anything like that, I am just completely perplexed as to how this movie was confusing.

Ive seen it twice and I still like it....it's about the robots baby! yeah!!!

As you can read all of you complaining about the Sexual stuff and crude language. All you had to do is see the PG-13 rating to figure out it's not for children under 13 so it's your fault if you can't read. It's not the fault of the writers nor directors of this movie if you don't know how to go see the movie without taking your 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 year old with you then expect not to have to explain the stuff you knew what was going to be in the movie if you had only read the Theatre's explanation. I myself Loved the Movie and can't wait until #3 but I'm an Adult and understood everything in the Movie. I just don't understand why other Adults take Babies to Movies and expect a good outcome when rated PG-13?????? If anyone can explain this one to me please feel free!! Now, I'll quit my rantings and ravings. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was a 9 in my book out of a scale from 1 to 10. Would have gotten a 10 but with the extra 30 minutes added onto the Movie I can only give it a 9. Was too long.

I have not gone and seen the movie yet. All of your comment mean nothing because how could you possible make the second movie better than the first? I'am sure it is a great movie so stop spoiling it for everyone else.

We loved the movie. It was non-stop action from the beginning. We thought it was just as good as the first one which we have watched over and over again. I'm sorry others didn't like it but we certainly did. We would go see it again, recommend the movie to others and buy the DVD when it comes out.

I loved it and have been to see it twice already. I didn't care for the mushy stuff, but loved all the action sequences.

While I agree at some point with you, Erika, I agree with Ryan D. up here too. If you expect to be disappointed, even the slightest bit, you will be.

My girlfriend apparently couldn't appreciate it as much as me, because she had to complain about Megan Fox showing her butt all the time, along with other things. But she acts like that with the other movies she's watched recently - usually pointing out the bad stuff first.

One thing I was confused with was the robot freshman chick who was pretty much like a Terminator, burned off all her skin during transformation, then managed to grow it back. Had they explained that a bit better, I woulda appreciated her role in the story more.

As for the plot, I managed to put everything together about halfway through. The first Decepticon wanted to come back and rule the planet and destroy the sun, but apparently only a Prime (like Optimus) can stop him.

The main issue I had was that the fight scenes sometimes didn't last as long as they could have. And more importantly.. how does a human go to Robot Heaven? And they if they told Sam to bring back Optimus, why wasn't Optimus there? Since he was dead and all...

Aside from that, everyone has their opinions, and most of them are respected because they have something of validity. Other people are always just so negative, no matter what the movie is.

I havent seen it yet but i herd it was AWSOME!!!

I went to the movie with my 9 year old son and we were very excited to see the movie. We both liked the first one. (I think I liked it more) Needless to say my son enjoyed it and I was very disappointed. I survived the quick scene flashes and sexual humor in hopes for a "great" movie. I ended up wishing I had saved the $25 I spent for tickets and popcorn and a drink. Toilet humor is not what I expected for ancient robots who are here to look after the good of the human race. As far as I am concerned it was very bad taste and very unoriginal!!!I believe the Transformers were from a generation that would be embarassed with this production! If it's not broken, don't try to fix it!

...you know He-man, She-ra, and dare I say it the ever so loved Smurfs ...all the early 80s was exploitive of woman and fighting,,,so you all are stunned why?
Bay did his homework and Dreamworks gave life to what the 80s cartoonists couldn't--lifelike engineering. So keeping that in mind it rocked!

I do not know about the II Transformers Movie, the first one stunk. On the other hand, the Transformers movie from August 8, 1986 the animation film is a Must-see great production. This new production of Transformers is just junk. I usually like new stuff. I same with Spider-man: these animated movies are not family oriented people with good sense. I am disapointed in the movie industry. Star-wars was clean. Johnny Deepth in the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Pirates of the cir...Etc. We need more fun movies, not so, self destructive movies like the Transformer movies. I like my animated Transformer movie from 1986 better.

I think the movie was great . When I think of tf I think action and big robots. Thats what we got. I also think that given the fact that the lore of tf would not transfer over the changes that are there had to be . For the most part. As for the adult themes this is a movie for adults. The kids that made tf number one are now grown up. If you want a larger plot go see something else . Think back when you were a kid the cartoon wasnt full of plot and we loved it . The movie didnt need a lot of plot . The basis for tf has always been a leap of faith . The first movie didnt have that this one did am I felt refreshed at that. As for the racial content GET OVER IT! We could set here all day and name movies 100 times worse that no one said anything about. Those of you that had a problem you really need to watch Mind of Mencia . Jokes are jokes and things are funny if more people were like him this world would be alot better of.
