If before reading this post you were not aware of the existence of a 2003 film called Miracle Dogs, then it's probably safe to say that Miracle Dogs Too isn't for you, either -- even though it's actually not a sequel of the first film but rather a weird rehashing of the same general plot, albeit with a completely different cast. And oh, what a cast it is! I've got one word for you: Urkel.
That's right, the one and only Jaleel White, who played nasally nerd Steve Urkel on the popular '90s sitcom Family Matters, graces us with his presence once again. This time around he's a hapless sidekick of a bully who Zack (the main character) crosses paths with when he moves to a new town.
The overriding plot revolves around the stray dogs that Zack finds in the nearby woods, and how he comes to realize that they have a healing effect on the inhabitants of the nursing home at which his mother works. If the movie had stuck to that story line, it probably would've been a lot better. Instead, there were several weak subplots that dealt with everything from divorce to teenage dating to adults dating to competition at the workplace to animal cruelty to death. That's a lot to pack into ninety minutes, huh? Frankly, I wanted to see more of the dogs, and therefore my favorite part of the movie was the very end, when the humans finally stopped hogging the screen and a trio of adorable puppies became the focus.
Despite its muddled plot and some really horrible acting by a C-list cast, Miracle Dogs Too was more bearable than a few of the other direct-to-DVD family movies I've seen recently, such as Elephant Tales and The Legend of Sasquatch. But that's not really saying much, is it? Did I mention that Urkel is in this film?
I totally like the movie and Charles During is a great actor for Captin Pete Weaver. I think this is the greatist movie I have ever seen in my intier life and I think the guy who played Francis was not a good guy. The guy who played Leo was very very smart by not stealing the dogs.Besides Francis could of goten arested, I thik this movie is a big 5.
