*MAJOR SPOILERS!*

okay, you didn't even get into the fact that the movie strayed SO far from the book it wasn't even funny!!!! leaving huge chunks out (characters - ben! lauren! to very important bio class scenes & 20 questions w/ bella and edward!), they put parts in the book that didn't even happen! ummm jacob appearing before the bonfire... not even. some stupid book bella went looking for... no. victoria and james killing off TWO people... no NO NO! arrrg!!!

those are just the major ones... i can think of at least 20 more :( i understand having to leave parts out... but completely changing stuff that realllly doesn't need to be changed upsets this "twilighter"...

the acting was good. like you said, i think they cast charlie very well. (ugh don't get me started on diner scenes that aren't in the book though!) i'm still not a super huge kristen fan. her little half-laugh grunt sigh things REALLLLLY started to bug me half way through the movie. personally, i thought jasper looked like edward scissorhands. :D

ok, that's enough griping for now. i left the theater almost in tears. the movie really failed the grasp the magic of the books, and that's what upset me the most.

*sigh* here's to hoping the sequels are better...

Finally. Thank you, Erika for being honest about this train wreck. The best thing about this movie was the extended Harry Potter HBP preview in the beginning. (I actually stood up and applauded in the theater.) That being said, I was immensely dissapointed by this movie. And not even the adaptation, but the overall production. The sets were wretched, makeup worse, special effects? Right. And what was the deal with the wigs? Come on. I know this was low budget, but please. I agree with you that Billy Burke as Charlie was by far the shining star in this movie. I don't think they could have made Jacob any cheesier. As an avid fan of the series, (one who pleaded with you to continue reading the series) I walked out of the auditorium silent. And I'm NEVER silent. I'm a Gemini. I have never in my life been to a midnight show of a movie with huge fans and seen the entire audience get up and walk out at the end. No applause. No cheers. Just got up and left as soon as that camera shot of Victoria faded away. And to my utter shock this morning, I read a bunch of reviews that say "fans will enjoy this movie." Uh, no we won't! So thanks a bunch for seeing what I saw. Yes, I will still go to see the sequels. Here's hoping they fire Catherine Hardewick. Cheers!

Ah my dear friend e,
Once again you have taken the words out of my mouth (though you presented them much more eloquently than I would have). I have to completely agree with you on everything!

I left the theater angry at first screaming to my friend who dared to see the movie with me, "Why did they make them look so white?!", "What happened to the meadow?! It's everyone's favorite scene!!!" Now that I have had time to mull it over, I have calmed down.

I do think Rob Pattinson did a great job. He really managed to bring to the screen that, after falling for Bella, Edward's more human side comes through-thus making him more like a 17 year old boy (something I think I often forget when I read the books). For example, when he takes Bella home to meet his family; he played the role of awkward boy so well ("...ummm, this is my room."). It was well played.

I am still a little upset about things that were left out. However, I am trying to be grown up enough to understand that it was low budget (what was with the whoosh sound they added to him walking around the car? Supreme cheese!) and, if they had put everything into the movie like I wanted, it would have been four hours long. There were things they changed that I didn't quite understand the meaning of (Like the last poster pointed out, why are they eating at a diner?), but overall, they didn't lose the story.

What I have to agree with most is how they set up the end to prepare us all for the next two of three installments. That was a little over-the-top. Honestly, they could have ended it without all that and all Twihards (and I include myself) would still be at the midnight showing of New Moon. Oh well.

All in all, I have to go with the fact that I shouldn't be too disappointed because they could have really ruined it and didn't. In the end I still love Edward Cullen as much as the next girl, be she 15, 30, or 52 (which is the age of my mother who is also addicted). And e never fret. You're secret is safe with me as long as you keep mine from my husband as well (though he may think something is up when I get the words 'Edward Forever' tatooed somewhere on myself).

i knew everyone was reading this book and i like to be different from others so i didnt read the book until my friend had a birthday party and we went to see twilight... i loved it it was the best movie ever and then i bought the book i read it in one day...i hope there will be more movies and books because they are the BEST I LOVE THE TWILIGHT BOOKS

I thought this movie was awesome. You cant expect a ton with low budget.

i have not watched the movie yet but we are planning to watch it today on my birthday. i was only dissapointed about 1 thing the lullaby. i wanted carter burwell, yiruma river to be in the movie. that lullaby just somehow made the movie more romantic w/a piano but the other lullaby just didn't have the same feeling to it. to late to change anything.

in reply to your comment..."they put parts in the book that didn't even happen!"
FYI...the book was written before the movie

twilight is the best movie in the world!!!!
i am on book 4 and it is so goood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

atoofa-

Yea I think she got book and movie mixed up in her post. The rest of the post acknowledged that the book was written first.

I thought the part they added was cool and was kinda disappointed on the parts they left out. i was hoping they would add the scene of edward and bella doing it under cover, cuz isnt everybody doing it at 16-17? I am the guy who read the book and finsih it just an hour b4 i watched the movie at 1015 pm ha. Overall i thought it was worth my 10 bucks including popcorns and soda :).

I think that this is one of the most honest reviews that I can agree with.

I'm not necessarily a Twihard, but I LOVE the series and there's a group of us in my small town that are absolutely Twilerpated. I attended the midnight showing with pretty low expectations as well, but have found myself still thinking about parts I liked from the movie, so overall I'd say they were a success.

However, I particularly agree with your review about the special (cough) effects, and hope that the budget they get for New Moon won't involve lerpy running. That made me roll my eyes with how cheesy and low budget it looked!

Some of the lesser actors also seemed as if they were performing in a grade school play then on the big screen with how forced their lines were, but Pattinson made up for it all (and yes, so did Billy Burke...he's just not as yummy to look at!).

The soundtrack was suprisingly awesome, so I wouldn't be surpised to find it as a Christmas present under the tree due to some on-line shopping...I'll just say it's from my husband and ACT surprised.

I LOVED the tension between Edward and Bella and I think THAT's what's going to make me buy the movie and possibly go see it again in the theaters with a fellow Twilighter.

I also know that I would go to the sequels, even if they're as sup-par as this one, but that's what Midnight Showings are for!

I honestly think everyone needs to keep a couple things in mind when cristisizing...

1. it was LOW budget and being a low budget film I think they did amazing.

2. I think if it hadn't been for the "comedy" in the movie, it could have been a horrible movie. For me and my teenager, it made it better. Took the edge off a little.

3. You wouldn't be complaining if that money was racking up your bank account, now would you.

I think under the circumstances they did a very good job. It's not perfect. But it was a good movie and stayed fairly true to the book. Every movie based on a book, loses some of the story. You can't fit it all into a 2 hour movie. Not everyone is going to be happy. But look at the numbers... I'm sure everyone who played a part in the making, is very happy with the $ =)

We'll see it again!

I have yet to read the books, but the movie made me want to read them. Yes, there were a few cheesy effects but overall I found it to be a very well done, low budget movie. I was disappointed that they didn't include the meadow scene my friend talked so much about, but I thought that his skin in the light was pretty, like diamonds. It had a good balance between romance and humor, I laughed often. I plan on reading all four books and seeing the other movies when they come out.

Tricia Michigan

what can i say? i`m in love with edward cullen! ahahaha.

Great movie. I think most people will enjoy it. There were a couple parts people won't get if they didn't read the book, but other than that I still think people will like it. It's romantic and very interesting. Hope you guys enjoy/enjoyed it as much as I did.

i didn't read the series until after seeing the movie. honestly i didn't even know about the series until my friend said she'd read it and wanted to see the film. personally i thought it was a phenominal film. i was on the edge of my seat for the last half of it! after reading it i do see some variations that i'm not entirely sure why they happened but a lot of them i understand. you have to squeeze stuff together and alter a little to make it work on screen. i loved the actors they picked- especially alice and jasper so i found it strange to hear others didn't. my friend who was a twihard fan really loved it too and we've been back to see it a few times already! having not read it previously i suppose i was less critical but unlike a lot of people suggested i didn't leave the theater feeling lost or confused and i really didn't question why they fell in love so quickly- it just made sense. even after reading it i feel they adapted it for the screen far better than the harry potter series which i am by far a diehard fan of and while i enjoy the hp movies i still cringe at the confusing and unnecessary changes the first time sitting through a new film release!

We thought Twilight was the most beautiful and breathtaking love story ever written. We do share some point of views like the other comments before. some parts were cheesy and poorly portrayed but in over all they didn't lose the story. We were a bit frustrated when they added or changed some parts. We also agree on the lullaby, carter burells version of the lullaby was good but we thought that river flows in you by yiruma captivates edwards love for bella more.

We thought all the characters especially the cullen family were chosen perfectly. They played their parts like they were born to be vampires. A few parts are a little too played out, like read directly from the script but over all still well performed. The kiss that was performed in her room was changed and in the wrong location but We absolutley loved it. That kiss captured the desire and longing they both have for each other. A kiss was missed when edward said goodbye to bella was supose to be the most passionate kiss yet but we were greatly disappointed that it wasn't even in it.

The special effects were both good and poorly in many ways. The baseball scene was one of the best scenes in the movie. Another good scene was when the cullens first appeared in the movie entering the cafeteria. How bella captured each of their beauty, especially the all beautiful edward. overall we can't wait to see "new moon" and the rest of the trilogy that will be obviously as breathtaking and suspenceful as twilight.

This movie was the best. But the book is better. You should definitly read the book before seeing the movie. The book is PERFECT!!!!!!! but the book is nothing like the movie.READ THE BOOK IT IS WAY BETTER TRUST ME

i totally loved the movie. in fact, i found that i was as wrapped up in the movie after it was over as i was in the books! i found it hard to think of much else the whole day after. the chemistry between edward and bella was awesome, left me totally breathless! so there were some cheezy special effects, but that stuff is easily overlooked for the love of the story. and what love story ISN'T cheezy in its own way? if you knew beforehand that it would stray from the book, it wasn't disappointing. they couldn't possibly put in all the little details. that's why you should read the book! i also recommend reading midnight sun, even though it's not finished. knowing what edward and his family were feeling/thinking through all of the first book helped a ton during the movie. the best thing about the movie was seeing the characters in real life. sitting with my friends and saying, "oh my gosh, it's mike!" or, "holy crap, emmett is hot!" i'll probably see it again before it's out of theaters and then i'm definitely buying it. i can't wait to see where they take it from here :)

actually i was very disappointed in the movie i expected so much more i had been counting down the days for the movie to come out because i was so in love with the book and i expected the movie to be like magic. I really do wish the sequels r better n they needed more special effects the book was 100% much better if u read the book and fell in love with it like i did u will be disappointed with the movie

I loved the books and loved the movie as well. I went into the premier with an open mind and did not expect much from it, but being able to see Edward and Bella on the big screen. Yes, i notice the bad scenes, the added scenes and all the important parts that were missing from the novel. However, i enjoyed the movie, will go and see it at least one more time on the big screen, cant wait for the dvd or the adaptation of New Moon. Many more fans will be doing the same, so the 70.5 mil will continue to accumulate.

I read the book, and I was pretty scared that the movie wouldn't live up to the book at all, or that Edward wouldn't be super hot. Well, Edward was just as hot as he was in the book, and that's saying a lot! However, I don't think that the chemistry between Bella and Edward was that strong. It seemed a bit awkward and forced at times. I also thought Bella was a bit too tomboy-ish in the movie, which I didn't imagine, even though I did see her as a plain Jane. Tomboy-ishness did not go along with her anti-sports, klutz personality. I think they should have picked someone else for Bella, but I'm not complaining too much, Edward distracted me most of the time!

the books are amazing. the movie is one of the best movies that i have ever seen

Disappointed. I started the series back in May/June and after book one was thrilled and hyped for the following books and for the movie. I could hardly wait for book 4 to come out in July and all I ever talked about was Twilight this and Twilight that (p.s. I'm in my late 20's). I've even decked out my Myspace page all Twilight, including group photos of the actors. ...ok, so you see how much of a die hard fan I am.

I read the first book again the same week the movie was to be released. At the theaters I was 1/2 lost and half giggling at various scenes. PRO: for a low budget scene they had an excellent camera person...no shakyness of the camera=no motion sickness. CONs: merging major scenes together such as the supposed homecoming dance with Prom and merging their first trip in the woods with the Saturday trip Bella goes on with Edward (during the first dance...which didn't happen). Also, how Alice & Jasper were down in the hotel lobby and Bella just sneaks out. Jasper was suppose to be at the airport when Bella takes off. As fans, I'm sure you know of all the other major changes that were made vs. the book. I was disappointed that Edward didn't pull up to prom in the black Aston Martin, but low budget...I'll give them that one I suppose.

I could keep disecting the movie...but will go see it again Thursday w/another friend...maybe there's something I missed and it'd be better than the first time. I'd have to pretend I hadn't read the book though.

I haven't see it but my son and his wife saw it and thought it to be pretty good for the kind of show it was. he is 38 and she is around 34 me I am 64 and know that you never read the book before you see the movie a movie never does the book justice as everyone has already made in there own minds the presence of all the people and what kind of looks they have. They don't have enough time to pt everthing into the movie!

After having a few days to calm down about how cheesy some parts were and the horrible makeup and wigs. I'm acutally going to see it again tonight. I keep hearing it is so much better the second time because you get over your disappointment and the shock of how low budget it really was and just enjoy it as a movie. I just hated Jasper! I never pictured him as being so bug eyed! And the part where Edward first sees (smells) Bella. Come on! I thought he was going to puke. Some guy in the theatre kept making puking sounds. It was hilarious. I'm hoping it is much better the second time around and that for New Moon they get new a wardrobe/makeup/hair crew. What a difference that would make!

I read all the books, watched the movie. I never lost sigh of the fact that it was a book for teenagers, and that the outfit that produced it is no Paramount Pictures. Let's call it artistic license, but since the book would not fit in a two hour movie, i had low expectations. The gist of the movie was there, human girl meets boy vampire, fell in love, had to overcome trials along the way. And yes, Billy Burke was great! Jasper reminded us of Edward scissor hands, Kirsten was awkward as what bella was supposed to be (c'mon she stumbles and trips all the time, we can't expect her to be poised in the movie). I would recommend the movie, watch it and not dissect it, then maybe you will' enjoy it better

One more thing.. for someone who had a pretty injured leg, in the movie how was Bella able to walk perfectly fine outside?

The movie was GREAT! NEVER is a movie as good as the preceeding book! You cannot expect it to all be exact....a movie and a book ARE different. I saw it the movie with 3 very avid book fans that all loved it. I hadn't read the books but after watching the movie, I am now reading the books too.

To me, the movie was artistic. The director does independent films, so i wasn't expecting high-definition cinematography and amazing special effects. I enjoyed the fact that it almost felt like you were walking around next to the characters and filming their lives yourself, thanks to the often unsteady camera shooting and non-perfect lighting throughout the film. I will vouch however that Carlisle Cullen's make-up did look like white powder was slapped carelessly on his face, Jasper Cullen looked a little too bug-eyed and nervous, and Alice wasn't quite as bouncy and carefree as I had hoped for while reading the book.
Let's face reality shall we? There is NO WAY that a movie can completely do a Best-Selling author's book justice. To those of you who are true Twilight fans, let's support the film! That way next time around, they can spend more money making the unrealistically flawless characters and superman special effects that you had all hoped for! I, for one, cannot wait to see New Moon and plan on watching it the same ridiculous amount of times that I have watched Twilight already in theatures.

I was pretty disappointed with the movie. The dialog didn't flow well, at all. The books are well written, but somehow they managed to destroy that in translation, and the dialog progresses in little fits... For example, when Edward, in his rage, has to show Bella what he looks like in the sun... That, first of all, was a poorly written modification frolm the book, as they tried to cram several events together. And what exactly was the point? I mean, he'd just shown her all these fearsome things, like his speed and strength, throwing trees around. So the thing that will convince her to fear him is...he's sparkly? >.> The on-screen translation of the crash scene with the van was really disappointing, too.

Yours is the one of the only reviews of Twilight: The Movie that actually addressed aspects of the film itself. Most of the ones I've read focused on how unrealistic/annoying/strange the storyline is. That's a BOOK issue, not a movie issue; sorry, critics! One review compared Pattinson to James Dean - HELLO? That is just silly. Twilight is a sub-par film based on a amateurish book with a cultish following. I read all 4 books and enjoyed them, but I'm not obsessed with them. I also had low expectations for the movie and was completely disappointed. My review is on my blog; feel free to visit and comment.

Thank you...I haven't laughed that hard in a really long time and in desperate need of doing so. The Beaker comment sent me over the edge. I've read 2 and am halfway through the 3rd; savoring every sappy detail. I'm assuming that the budget will be larger the next go around. Hopefully, it will be enough to cover a proper makeup artist and special effects team. Either way, I'm sure I'll be there on it's first day. Embarassed to say my age...I won't tell your husband if you won't tell mine.

I read the book twice, the 1st about a year ago. The 2nd to my 8yr old daughter after she saw the trailer and how cute Edward was(She has good taste) For a low budget film and only a 2hr allotment I thought it was great. Really, the only parts I was dissapointed with was; Edward in the sun. It looked like he was wearing cheap shimmer lotion. I also was upset that Edward hessitated sooo much to suck the venom out of Bella's hand. Most actors were perfectly selected except Renee, Jasper, Carlisle and Esme... Renee I pictured as someone like Renee Russo and more "Hair-brained". I didnt like the protection joke she made to Bella, Its not about that!!! Jasper, I pictured as Jake Gylenhaal, Carlisle as the Dr. from Niptuck:Dylan Walsh, and Esme as a coiffed blonde "hello not a redhead" like Charlize Theron. The one part I wouldve kept in the film is Bella fainting at the smell of blood in Biology class, Mike taking her to the nurse, and the jealousy he feels when Edward takes over. Other than that my daughter and I were very pleased, and plan to see it again over the holiday weekend(cause she went to the restroom and missed the kiss... )

i really liked the book and movie

Erika! you nailed everything right on the head. I am not a so called "Twihard" either, but i do really love the books. The makeup on the characters did bother me a lot. If you noticed, Carlisle's neck was a different shade from his white face! that part killed me. The scene in the biology class, he looked like he was going to throw up, not like he was fighting from killing her then and there. It did bother me that bella and her father ate at the diner, because her cooking for Charlie was supposed to be kind of a bonding moment. I though Eric was soooo annoying! and a horrible actor, sure he added a little comedy cus it was just cheesy. I wish Bella and Edward's romance was built up a little more because it did seem like they met one day and were in love the next. Overall I was highly disappointed, but i will go and see the sequals, just because its the Twilight Saga!

I too was disappointed with the movie. I've read the books and I really anticipated seeing the movie. I thought okay i'll keep an open mind. Some of the scenes were so cheesy. I was really appalled on the bad make up job. And what was up with Jasper? he looked like a robot. Maybe a younger Edward Scissorhand. But mainly I was disappointed by the way the didn't stay true to the story. But I will definitely be there for the next movie at the midnight showing. Hoping that the next installment will be better. Didn't they have an audience watch the movie before they released the movie?

I think they need to get the director from the Harry Potter series to direct Twilight. As much detail as there is in those books, the director really brings them to life, and they are absolutely awesome. Lets get him to direct Twilight..the other movies would then on be amazing!

Well as most of you are saying, it was a low budget movie! But to take a novel and convert it into a movie, the movie wasn't half bad.Yes, there were scenes that didn't even take place in the book, which could have been left out of the movie. The one thing that was left out that is upsetting to me is Alice's lines. The character of Alice in the book is great and from what I now remember of the movie, she had one line. The story that Jacob told Bella about "The Cold Ones" in the book was much better than the film version. Overall though, I enjoyed the movie. Not as well as the book, but still good. I will go see any sequels that may come out in the future.

Am i the only one that noticed when edward was in her bedroom you could see his eyes were blue not golden?

the effects were lame edward looked like the roadrunner from the old cartoons when he ran.
parts of the movie were incredibly slow to me.

they are going to need alot more money if they are going to afford the antique harley the honda the aston martin vanquish the 911 turbo the ferari not to mention trips to other countries even though they can be faked.

I am a huge twilighter and I have been very anxiously awaiting the film. I loved all the books and have read them all several times. I have to admit I tried not have high hopes for the film, yet I was still excited. I left feeling a bit conflicted. On one hand I was happy that they kept so true to the book, aside from the added scenes of james killing, and killings were mentioned in the book. Also how they changed several small things to fit into two hours, and better fit a movie adaptiion. We all know some things need to be changed. I wasn't happy about a couple of things they changed though like eating at the diner, I felt this took away a major role bella plays in the books also I hated how dumb they made mike, and I understand they needed to blur scenes together but some of the ways were no neccesary for example the near rape/resturant scene being changed and the who reveiling him as a vampire thing all could have been left alone. I also hated the special effects/makeup but it'll get better with a bigger budget look at the 1st harry potter movie for example. But I did like the casting, I am still a little unsure about stewart as bella she seems too boyish and I agree I didn't feel the chemistry,(personally I like amanda bynes as bella but oh well) the movies shooting techniques didn't help the cheesey feeling such as the continous flash back scenes and narraration that info could have been conveyed in another manner, or not at all. I'd say they should find a new director. I will go see the movie again and the sequels regardless so I wasn't horrified but I didn't fall in love either, I liked it though. Loved charlie and her mom, and james was awesome I liked billy and jacob too suprisingly, loved nikki reed as rose and alice was good, needed more lines tho but that'll come. I think they acheived their goal, hopefully they exceed expectations in the future.

Okay so here it goes.....

I have just recently been introduced to Twilight, in fact I actually started the book on Monday the week before the movie premiered. On Sunday I finished up the last couple of chapters (bitting my nails: in excitement, fear, and anxiety)then got in the car and headed to the theatre. My expectations were to high just finishing the first book!!! The books are fantastic.

So here is the point....
I wouldn't blame the actors because thats their job is to act. I blame the DIRECTOR. This lady whatever her name is is supposed to guide and direct these characters. She did a terrible job. There was no flow of the story and every seen was chopped up making it hard to follow if you didn't read the book. She should be replaced, immediately.

Here's what I wanted....
The tension both physically and emotionally between Edward and Bella. In the movie there walking around holding each other in twenty minutes (heck no, I read 200 pages on them falling in love). The director put them to comfortable to fast, there was no first touch or hand-holding grrrr.
And then HELLO...they are vampires could the director figure that out and maybe play up their abilities. Okay so there is Edward climbing trees that good, but what about their hightened sense of smell, hearing, and physical abilities.

The movie picked up...
for me when they started playing baseball. But that lasted a whole five minutes. The book was so good about their plan to save Bella and her family and the specific details and the movie had nothing. Before I knew it Bella was in a hotel room with Alice & Jasper. And where was the kiss goodbye from Edward? That kiss was important especially for later in the series.

Altogether Edward is beautiful and Bella was as annoying as ever, just like the book. I am a fan and would have seen this movie no matter what. The problem is that so many people are gonna be disappointed they won't 1)Read the series 2)Be as excited for the sequels. That director is to blame and she better get it right the next time!!!!!!!

Ok......Im kinda annoyed...I wrote like a 2 page review and my ancient computer, similar to the one bella didnt have, cut off. So in an attempt to recreate that passionate review, without as many words, I want to highlighting that kristen was perfect, reguardless of post-reviews that said that her voice is too raspy.Robert however did not portray the seriously irresistable, tempting Edward Cullen, who has dazzled me on so many unconsious occassions; And to spare myself anymore heart ache I will not further elaborate. Moving on I think that Billy Burkes Brilliant performance as Charlie deserves AT LEAST an MTV award. Honestly i wished he was my dad, well not really unless i was Bella; In my dreams.
Taylor Lauent's, Jacob, brief appearances however were also troubling, maybe it's because I personally had issuses imagining him transition into the Tall dark and Handsome Werewolf, soon to come in New moon, but never the less he's soooo adorable.
Nikki Reed, and Kellan Lutz, twilights beauty Rosalie and Emmett the strong, reguardless of brief appearances delivered AMAZING Performances-Totally like I imagined!
Alice, played by Ashley Greene, brought tears to my eyes; her grace and beauty reguardless of her personal reviews from others made the movies poor makeup and special effects more bearable While Jasper, played by Jackson rathbone....Lets just say he made me laugh when I wasnt supposed to, but he looked the part.
Oh hey look the previews are on now...anyways All the remaining characters delivered reasonable performances, with a brief honorable mention fore Carllisle and Esme.
Favorite scene is the Baseball game. It was INCREDIBLE!!! EVERY HOT! Least Favorite scene IDK There were so many but just to hightlight a few, the apple thing....Totally STU-PID, The Car accident- poorly directed, The Meadow and The one that tops the list Robert Pattinsons Poor performance in the science class on bellas first day...But you know what? I STILL LOVED THE MOVIE!!!!!

For all these people up set that the book and movie were really different: Ok, the movie was Based off the book not the exact the same, they can not fit over 300 pages of important things into a 2 hour movie, plus the company was small! give them props! they did a good job, and Twilight made loads of money so, they can spend more on New moon!

... fangirls = inferior

I enjoyed the movie, not as much as the book though! The movie was good, but I thought too it could have been better. They did capture the essence of the story though. I, like everyone else, fell in love with Edward all over again!!! I was really worried I wouldn't like Stewart as Bella. She ended up impressing me though. Charlie, was awesome, didn't expect that! I think overall, they did what they could do and yes like everyone else...alot of things were left out or changed, but if they included everything, it may have led to a boring, long movie.
Twilight, the movie, was Great....looking forward to New Moon!!!

I haven't seen the movie yet. I want to finish the book first. I can't put it down, I am completely absorbed into it. Oh, how I wish Edward were real. ahhhh...

I really went into the movie with very low expectations.. I have yet to see a movie that I have read the book and actually loved it. But I was plesantly surprised. Yes, some of the acting was awful, the makeup was horrid. But the cinematography was excellent. All the images were exactly what i had pictured. But over all, i enjoyed the movie. Im sure New Moon will be a much bigger budget, and will be able to capture more of the essence of the books. Im still an Edward fan, and always will be. I will be one of the first to see the next installment!

The movie could not hold a candle to the book. I agree that the special effects were lame considering the greatness of Matrix. And the makeup on Carlisle Cullens face, you could see the contrast betrween his neck and face, it was aweful. I actually found myself bored during the first half of the movie, whereas the book I couldn't put it down. I liked the acting from the leads overall. I really hope that the sequels live up to the books better than Twilight did. This was the most correct review I have read so far.

I liked the movie... I liked the fact that there were chunks from the book left out in the movie and parts added into the movie that weren't in the book. It's almost like if you want to get more out of the book (because everyone knows they want more!!), watch the movie because there were parts added into the movie that weren't in the book. I read the book before watching Twilight in theatre. There were parts I was expecting to see, but majority of the time, I never knew what was going to happen next due to not knowing what the added parts were - which I liked. Plus, I wanted to see more romance stuff between Edward and Bella, which the book wasn't helping much. But I know Hollywood would make it happen, haha. And sure enough, there was a small, but amazing, make out scene. I was impressed and in total 'ah'. I'd also like to add that I think since I am not as "obsessed" with Twilight as the majority of others are (I'm still very intrigued and kind of a fan though), I think I had more of a laid back approach to the movie and loved it more than those who are completely obsessed with the book. With that said... Do BOTH - read the book AND watch the movie!!! You'll love how you can take both and put them together to make an even bigger and fuller story.

oops... meant to say they put parts in the *MOVIE* that didn't happen in the *BOOK*... but my dyslexia got the best of me :)

Okay my turn. I (much like every female who has read the books) have fallen madly in love with Edward (I think my husband has caught on to that LOL uh oh) And when They picked Robert Pattinson I was not completely happy about it He's not Edward to everyone but... I think He did a good job. I don't think that the acting overall was completely horrible, I just loved Charlie, but thought that Jasper looked more like Edward Scissorhands than the Jasper described in the book. But I was more disappointed in the little details that they either changed or left out. Example: THEY DIDN'T EVEN MENTION JASPER HAD A POWER, If people haven't read the book then in future movies when that comes up they are going to be completely lost, I mean what the heck he just suddenly has a power??? And Belle is supposed to be the aggressive one not Edward! I loved how she was wearing ratty old sweat pants in the book ,it was cute...but in the movie they had her in a t-shirt and panties.
I was soooooo upset with the meadow (Did you see wind chimes anywhere when Edward was in the sun because I heard them) J/K I just thought that was funny though.
When they went to school as a couple for the first time and he went to get her out of the car that is when I was like "ahh there is the Edward I've been reading about, finally!" I have so much more to say I could go on about it ALL Day... and have. But, I'm just gonna put one more. Victoria at the dance??? Wouldn't Edward, Alice, Jasper, someone that has vampire instincts have sensed her there??? I mean come on!!! Ok I'm done complaining just needed to get that off my chest.

Ok I just thought of something else. Bella is suppose to be soooo clumsy but I saw her fall what maybe 1 time. And Should she really have been up in that tree I mean we are talking about Bella what if she would have slipped??? And why didn't they mention the Volturri?? The movie just doesn't do the book justice. Ok really I'm done now.

Two big things....MORE SEX and MORE VIOLENCE!!! terrible to say i know but it lacked the intensity i was expecting to get from it. i've not read the books yet but when you thing of vampires falling for humans you just think more...and i disagree i think the characters of bella and edward needed way more chemisty...it was like kindergarden love for me! was reading about the kiss when they said goodbye and that would've made the movie twenty times better! robert pattinsons looks way to old for kristen stewart(who i'm not a fan of in her acting) and they ususally do a good job of casting people together who look the same age! the movie did acomplish what it was suppose to though. cuz i can't wait for the next one in hopes that with this ones profits will be way more!!! and it did make me wanna read the books and im not really into any story books unless it's jane austen so this would be the first branch out from my informative books!!! and i loved jasper or w.e his name is the one who looks scared, i thought it was completely comical! oh yah and HP way better for now but when i saw Robert Pattinson in Hp i thought he was pretty cute kid but this movie did wonders for his looks! He is SO HOT IN THIS!!!! so is Dr. Collens! mmmmhhmmmm!!!

The book was great! The movie was good! No movie could compare with my own 3-D imagination as I read the book.
I am 50+ and can remember falling in love quickly. I liked the 'whoosh' after the car accident. I've watched it twice and will probably go see it again.

My 15 yr old daughter is in love with the books and had been waiting impatiently for the movies to be released. I myself hadn't heard of the books or read them. We went to the opening night debut. I didn't expect to much. There has only been one trilogy that I thought ever remotely came as close to an author's description, and that was the "LOTR" movies.
Anyway, yes, I noticed the cheesy scenes and poor makeup jobs. The glitter glow and Kristen never being able to keep her lips together. How annoying. Overall though, It made me want to read the books, because, if the movie story was any good to begin with, I know the author's depiction will be 100% better. So, for all those that were left disappointed, lets hope the money they made from the first movie will help finance the second.

All of you need to go to Stephenie Meyer's website and read the rough draft of Midnight Sun, you might then realize that the expressions on Edward's face in Biology class were PERFECT!

Twilight is the best movie ever and the books are even better. I could not have been happier with the movie. HELLOOO....their skin is supposed to be pale. What did you want it to be, tan? I loved the movie and can't wait for the nxt ones!

I loved the movie. I went with my teenage daughter and her friends. I read all four books in three days. I tried not to have high expectations on a low budget movie. The casting was great and the movie captured the essence of the book. We missed some of the details that were in the book, but it couldn't be a twelve hour movie. We're going back this weekend.

The movie was ok, could have been better. Did not read the book till after seeing the movie. Very excited to read the other 3 books. I hope the follow-up movie is not missing a lot of the romance from the books.

Thanks for reading!!!

I think the movie was great. You do need to go a 2nd time to really enjoy it. I loved it so much. Edward was beautifully cast-ed, he was exactly what I pictured him to be. ( I am even thinking of going to stalk him in real life) lol. {Just kidding Baby. I would never leave you for a fictional character.} Bella was wonderful though she got me annoyed a little with her constant babble. But that was the point right! Charlie was amazing. I would love him to be my dad. Rosalie and Emmett were a great addition. Rosalie was as mean as I imagined, Emmett was just as hot! Esme and Carlisle were great actor. Esme could have been better I think. Not what I pictured. But over all the book was better. But that was expected. The movie was amazing also. No way could everything have been put into a 2 hour movie. I am going to see it once a week with my fellow Twihard fans till we can purchase the movie on DVD. Can't wait till New Moon comes out or if and when Meyers decide to finish the Midnight Sun Book. For people still confused on Edwards part in the movie. Read the book on Meyers page. It will explain a lot.

Still Loved the Movie.
Twilight Forever.
Always,
Mrs. Edward Cullen

Erika: *do* tell your husband. As a 29-year-old husband, I am not ashamed to acknowledge my own enjoyment of the Twilight saga! Men across the country quietly enjoy well-crafted romance stories just as women do (who really does not identify with being in love, or wanting to be?), and I imagine that I am not the only man who has found himself captivated by Meyer's engaging characters. I am thoroughly pleased that my wife insisted that I read the series, and I needed no encouragement after the first few pages.

I share your concerns about the film. Bravo for a balanced review that articulates just everything I would have wanted to say! Let's hope that Summit does not try too hard at putting werewolves on the big screen.

I loved being in the theater with a bunch of screaming fans! I'm 31, and that doesn't happen very often.

I just wanted to remind everyone that they couldn't possibly fit 500+ pages of details into a 2 hour movie script. If they hadn't merged scenes and condensed dialogue, this would have been a 12 hour movie! Go expecting that and you won't be disappointed because all in all, it's very true to the book in so many aspects.

That said, I will agree that some of the facial expressions (Jasper, and even Edward) were over-the-top, but whatever. And I also expected a less subtle glistening of Edward's skin in the sunlight. What they showed would not illicit the Volturi's action later in the series--it looks like he put glitter all over is all. The music was a let-down for me--some mix of eerie strings with "The Graduate" style acoustic guitar picking. Wierd.

BUT. None of these are deal-breakers. Go see the movie and most definitely read the book! I love Edward! (And my husband knows all about it.)

Best, most honest review I have read!! You have based your review on having a knowledge of the books, which I'm afraid has not happened much.
I agreed with everything you said. In fact, I think you were eavesdropping on my conversations with my friends.....
We all need to remember - it is a movie that is BASED on a book. It will never be exactly the same as the book. Yes, the effects were low budget, but I was more interested in the love story anyway, weren't you?
But, I went to the movie a second time, and I have to say, I just relaxed then and enjoyed it for what it was. My daughters are now begging for a third showing!! There is some magic in seeing the characters that we love on the big screen. I will see it at least once more in the theater, will buy the DVD, and will definitely be in line with my 2 daughters for the next movie's midnight showing!!!

i love twilight i am a huge fan i can't get enough i can't wait to c the movie ....p.s. (i am 13)

I am totally a twilerpated twihard! My daughter introduced me to the saga in April (I'm 35). I read the first 3 very quickly and counted down to August 2 for Breaking Dawn. I check Stephenie's website daily for updates and all my social profiles (myspace, myyearbook, etc.)have twilight stuff everywhere! I buy everything Twilight that I can afford. I knew I would love the movie even though I knew it would not be exactly like the book. To get a glimse of Bella and Edward's life on the big screen could not be wrong! I look at the changes, the things that we say "didn't happen", as things that 'could' have happened that Stephenie didn't include. (yes I know the book came first, it's just how I choose to view it). I completely understand why they had to compress the scenes...a two hour time frame just doesn't allow for the details that were in the book. And as far as "they fell in love that fast?"... try reading Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks, then watching the movie. Yes the movie was good, but after having read the book, the falling in love in the movie was whirlwind. That being said, I thought Twilight was exceptional, although I agree with whomever said Jasper looked like Edward Scissorhands, he also looked a little too copnstipated. I was pleased with the rest of the casting. I have watched in twice and will be going again this weekend. I have never bought advance tickets or seen a movie in a hteater more than once before Twilight. I can't wait to get the DVD on my shelf.

Ever fallen head over heels for someone you just met, and then someone you know says, "Yeah, but he's just not that good looking" and suddenly you notice she's right?

I was really looking forward to this movie, and unlike anything in decades, I was craving to see it again and again as soon as it was over, until e's review harshed my buzz like a honeymooning vampire.

No, it wasn't a terrific movie, but it was well worth paying full (not matinee) ticket price and staying out until 3 am with all the other big fans.

But as far as adaptations go, I thought they did a great job of condensing it as necessary and switching some stuff up. What makes a great book doesn't necessarily make a great movie - we all know that.

What mattered most, because it's a love story, was the chemistry and this movie had that in spades.

I was surprised at how funny it was, mostly in the places they intended.

Well thanks, e, because now I'm a little less obsessed and in love with Twilight The Movie, which may keep me from shelling out any more money while it's in theaters, but it will in no way keep me from buying it on dvd and watching it way more than a 40 year old woman should!

I read the books and loved them. I saw the movie opening day, and it was fairly good. At some scenes i was dissapointed, I thought the special effects were pretty good [Yes i know most of you are complaining about them] and I think it would of been an amazing movie if instead of adding a lot of details no one needed they stuck to the original story more. Overall I thought it stayed very true to the book, and personally I thought the casting was amazing. I don't agree with you about Jasper, I thought he portrayed his role very well. One thing I do have to say is that they didn't show how obsessed Edward was with Bella. Yes, I know they had the "You are my life now" scenes, but they didn't include how he wrote her a song, and other details. They also didn't show when Bella said "Edward" in her sleep when he was watching her, and I thought that was important because it changed his mind and made him stay with her. Overall the movie was great, but it had its flaws.
PS:Rob Pattinson is the sexiest thing on the face of the earth!!!!

i have not yet read or wacted twilight. from all my friends that have the would of died if the didn't see twilight the loved it so much. i wanted to know if i should read the books first or wacht the movie? when i read the books amd wacht the movie i hopefully will still be on team edward. form my friends and the clips on youtube i am on team edward. which team are you on? love jj.

I saw the movie on tuesday, I have already read all four books, and I thought it was very good. I went with someone who hasn't read the books and he thought it was very good. When you go to a movie thats based on a book you have to go in with an open mind, they are going to make major changes, they have to try and get the feeling across that the author got across through our imaginations. It is not easy to fit 16 to 20 hours of reading into a 2 hour movie. I am sure the next 3 will get better and better.

I am a FAN of the twilight series! No joke! for the release of the 4th book I dressed up as Emily (scars and all) and bought my book, on the dot at 12, and have never gotten so dizzy from reading too fast before. So when it came to the movie you better believe I grabbed my ticket beforehand. And how has my FAN-ship been repaid? With a shameful adaptation. Don't get me wrong, I never expected the movie to get me the way the book did. As a rule when it comes to books-translated-to-film I "never expect much". But did it have to be so awful? I begged my husband and friends to see that movie, and we all sat there stunned thinking, "this is what all that craze was for"? And some tried to hang on and dwell on the "better" parts, but in the end we had to admit it wasn't as impressive as all the hype.

yes it was low-budget, but low-budget has rocked before-have we forgotten the Napoleon Dynamite wonder? Low-budget is not an excuse for poorly-shot and choppy scenes, where the camera men decide to circle around just to get us all dizzy. Nor is it excuse for "special effects" that have been out done by the tv show "Smallville"...yes, clark Kent zips around that show with more grace than in this feature film. And don't get me started on the awful adaptation of the love between Edward and Bella! Edwella is like Romeo and Juliet meet Buffy the Vampire slayer...and they didn't get it right. I wanted to find myself rutting for their ill-matched love, not grimacing at the cheesy (and poorly delivered) lines and unbearable effects.
My overall judgement? See the movie so they can make enough money to increase the budget for the next one. I imagine that an increase in budget could afford better writers, make-up artist, and acting coaches! But if NewMoon gets jacked-up, I'm done cuz fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, fool me trice...Oh you get it!

Loved It! Can't wait for the next movie to come to the movie theaters...ooooo.. or even better, on IMAX! Weee BIG EDWARD..NIIIICE! LOL

I have to agree that the movie was a MAJOR dissapointment. They changed WAY too much. The books were by far the best series I've EVER read, so I was really hoping they'd be more careful with the movie. They messed up a lot, tho. Many of the characters were introduced at the wrong time or place, and others left out all together. They also did not represent them right, and the only Cullen that seemed to fit the books decription was, in my opinion anyway, Emmet. The rest of them missed the mark. I don't neccasarily think it was by fault of the actors, after all, they were just delivering the lines they were given. I REALLY hope they are WAY more careful with the "New Moon". I also would love if Stephanie Meyer finished writing "Midnight Sun". It gives a whole other dimension to teh book. She is a genious. (If I even spelled that right...). But she id my favorite author now, and I will read anything she writes. I just hope that Hollywood can realize this as well and stick to the books for the next three movies!!!

i loved the movie...it was kind of dissapointing but its not like i regretted watching it ... though the books are much better..... stilll i love twilight because it just brings up my hopes sometimes but seriously...its the best book ive actually ever read..but not the best movie iv seen..TWLIGHT!!

I have been obsessed with Twilight for awhile now. The books sucked me in, and various YouTube fanvids and then the actual trailers got me excited for the movie.
I was a little nervous about the success of the movie because of all the hype building up to it, and I desperately wanted the movie to be true to the intensity and passion of the book. For me, it was mesmerizing. Of course I missed certain parts that were left out and I was slightly annoyed by some of the changes, but it didn't detract from the movie. The special effects weren't great (disappointed in the meadow scene, loved the baseball game), but that wasn't the most important thing to me. Edward, Bella and the Cullens were wonderful. I'm thrilled with the cast, especially Rob & Kristen, their chemistry was believable (I admit, I was mostly focusing on Rob!). When the movie was over it seemed as if it had gone so fast. I wasn't ready to get up and leave the theater. I'll definitely go see it again. I hope Summit goes with the necessary budget to make New Moon even better. Love the soundtrack, the lullaby is even starting to grow on me. Now I want Midnight Sun!

ive read all the reveiws and all but the 4th book and what i can say is this i may not have seen the move yet but i still plan on it for me all it will be is a way to help me see the crew form the book better in my minds eye and some one made a great point the moves will never be like the books (have yall forgot lord of the rings) just look at it this way others loved the books so much that they wanted to try to share it with the ones who cant or dont read and we always think that we could do better but in the end it does not matter take it for what it is a teen geared move and be happy it could have been a life time move instead.

Why did Edward act like a mental [moron] for the first 30 min? He expressions made him look silly, not bloodthirsty. When he was *flitting* around the meadow, I could only imagine that he looked like a freaking fairy!! That being said I really liked some of the new jokes, Bella is a beautiful girl, I mean brown-blue eyes!! Possible? Wow!
It needed more action...and I've never been a fan of the *damsel in distress* act, I want a main character who is strong, not a weakling. But for a romance, that's what you get...

Edward was good, but his hair stylist should of been shot! Vampires are suppose to be naturally beautiful with hair that flows effortlessly like Brad Pitt's! Instead it looked like they had plastered a ton of goop on it!
I was not impressed with Bella (Stewart)! She was suppose to appear as someone who was older for her age and yet she dressed and acted like a 13 year old. For Bella, I had hoped for a look-alike of Anne Hathaway who can come across as being quite klutzy! Instead she looked like someone who had intentionally slipped every time. Not natural actions at all! Her face appeared to have Novocaine shot into it from the nose down. No facial expressions. Totally numb and stone-like. No one could read her thoughts from her expressions. If you didn't read the book, then you were definitely lost when it came to her actions. Alice was perfect but a little too cool and Jasper did look very hungry and volatile. I expected a twin to Jessica Simpson for Rosalie - instead they found a plump, plain looking girl with a bleach job and too much lipstick. She was suppose to be model like and have an elegant stature. Emmett did not look like a big, brawny body builder either and the good Dr. could of at least, looked five years older. Esme was perfect in appearance, radiant sweetness and motherly actions. She just looked like Carlyle's big sister. I wish the action would of resembled "Harry Potter", but of course this was put together with less money and not enough experience. It could of been great, but I am not sure I will go see the next one unless they come up with a better Jacob, better hairdresser, better make-up artist and more strength in the action and story. Still it was good and I am glad I saw it.

I think the important thing to remember is that this is a movie....the first of 4 (or maybe 5). The next one will have a bigger budget. I always tell my kids to just enjoy what is up on the screen. Movies are never like the book, things are always left out or rearranged. There was amazing chemistry between the characters of Edward and Bella, and between the other Cullens family members. I am sure the next movie will have a larger budget....JUST ENJOY>

I liked the movie, loved the books. I don't see how I could have done better in any way with the film. Edward could've been hotter, from my readings Edward was more suave.. and dark..... All in all, I think that Twilight and HP are my two obsessions at this time.

I loved this movie it was very romantic. I recommend all couples to go see it.

i'm reading the book twilight right now and i love it. it is so interesting. everything leaves you in suspense and it's the coolest book ever

OMG Edward is so hot and i am going to read the a book a million times.I wanted to sneak into the movie after seeing something different but my mom said NO!even my little sister, who is four years old, wanted to sneak in too!

my sister is reading the book to me every night and it is cool

I typically would not have read a "vampire" book, but was talked into reading it when a friend was telling me about it. I am from the area the books were based on and also part Quileute and Makah. This is the only reason I read the first book. By the end of the first chapter I was hooked. I read all four books in about two weeks and couldn't wait for the movie. I usually like to watch the movie before I read the book because the movie can never be as good as the book. That being said I really enjoyed the movie as a movie lover but did not care for it as a Twilight fan.

I felt that the movie was to much of a comedy as opposed to the book. I also enjoyed Edwards ability to read minds and didn't see much focus on it in the movie. This becomes very important in the rest of the books so I hope they do a better job of incorporating it in the future movies. A lot of the book was actually in the movie and I really liked the relationship between Bella and her father. I felt that the guy who played Jasper was reading the script for Edward Scissorhands instead of Twilight. I also felt that the scene where Bella got to see Edward in the sun was a bit cheesy. I also felt that leaving the scene out where Bella talks to Edward and Carlisle about his past was very important because it introduced characters thay play a major role in the rest of the books.

I also loved Rob Patterson and will continue to watch every movie the day they come out and will probally buy all the dvds.

I loved this books. When twilight came out I called in to work just so I could see my favorite people come to life on the big screen. But I was sooo disappointed about how the movie was made I guess i wanted all my favorite parts like when Edwards would sang Bella to slep with her song he wrote for her ect.... I left the movie heartbroken. So I decided to see twilight one more time without any expections and guess what!? I loved it the second time around! I still laught my butt off when he stepped into the sun sorry that still was chessey to look at!

I LOVED IT! THE BOOK AND THE MOVIE

Well...
Yes, the movie was not as good as the books, but since it couldnt run for 8 hours and was low budget, I still loved it. And I thought all the actors were great (Including Kristen), thought some scenes were a bit awkward. Also, there was some definate Jacobness missing. All together, a great movie, I cant wait for the sequal!

Ok so I just found this posting and I have to say I didn't read the books till the movie came out..My daughter wanted to see it so I had to check it out first I COULD NOT put the books down!!! I could see it play out in my imagination as I read!! That being said I took my daughter to the movie ...and was TOTALLY disappointed with Kristen Stewart as Bella!! Most of the time it was like she was reading straight from a cue card!! Next,While I do like Robert as an actor ( as least as Cedric Diggory in HP). I think he pulled it off just because he in himself has that charming aura and is ..well..nice on the eyes!! I DID like the pick for Jacob.. He makes you want to smile and he played the younger guy not so sure of himself well. I think they hit Alice head on!! Ashley needs to relaxe some and have a little more fun with it .. Anyway..I also just read that there Will be a new director for New Moon and I must say I am excited about that..I dont feel that just because you have a small budget for a film that it should look low budget!! A GOOD Director could have made it better!! I am sure I will reread the books over and over ..I wont pay to go see the Movie agian ....however I am sure I will pay the $15 for the dvd when it comes out because My Daughter and i still had a great time together when we saw it...

You were kinder in your review, Erika, than I would have been. My daughter and I have each read the entire series twice (since this past August) and absolutely love it! The movie, however, was such a major disappointment. It was horrible!! I felt betrayed as a fan and couldn't help wondering how Stephenie Meyer must feel. I sincerely hope with all my heart that Summit Entertainment will do a much better job on the sequel(s). This saga deserves it.

I loved Twilight. Stephenie Meyer is a great writer. She can string words together to create a musical story of love, adventure, friendship, and the notion to follow the direction of your heart!

I have read all the books and I can not wait to see the movie. I think it is going to be awesome.

I would like to say that the acting was BAD. But I can't decide whether that is a result of the actors inability to act, or bad directing. With a new director and hopefully a larger budget, New Moon has potential to be a better movie. I would also like to point out that they left Alice's discovery of her past out?! Hello, Alice is an important character, does that mean that all of the other Vamp. characters backgrounds will be left out? One more thing. Edward can read minds (given) extreme emotions such as hate increase this ability. So when VICTORIA is at Edward and Bella's prom HATING them and most likely thinking about killing Bella, how can he not hear Victoria's thoughts???? Bad bad bad! Now all of these problems I have listed are problems with the screen writer, who is also adapting New Moon the movie from the book. So I can't be sure whether I think New Moon will be a good movie, but I can say for sure I will be there in the theater watching it. Twilight the movie was so bad that I left the theater crying with laughter. I have never laughed so hard at the theater, I feel like that alone was worth the money I spent, and definitely reason enough to see the next installment!

the movie is great.... loved it i'm in love with edward cullen my baby .......................................................................................

I was living under a rock during the entire time leading up to the release of Twilight. I'm a HUGE reader, and spend hours in Barnes & Noble or Borders, so I had seen the books but I am admittedly one of those people who judges a book by its cover, and the Twilight Saga covers screamed fantasy and i'm not huge for fantasy when it comes to my books. So I'd ignored the books for three years, never gave them a thought.

Then during one of my itune downloading sessions I saw that the first chapter of Twilight was available on audiobook for free so i click "Download" (I can say now if I hadn't done that I might have never seen the movie or read the books and that thought is depressing)

The sunday of opening weekend I knew it was in theathers and that afternoon decided to listen and see if I was interested even the least bit.

The second the first chapter ended I walked into my sisters room and told her we had to get to the theater in thirty minutes for the next showing.

I saw the first movie with only the first chapter as a reference, and fell in love. I then proceeded to buy the rest of the Saga and read and complete it over the course of the next week. (Let me just say I spent thanksgiving hunting through every 24 hour walmart in my area looking for an english version of Eclipse!)

The movie hooked me, but the Saga addicted me. I have since read and reread all the books at least 3 times in Breaking Dawns case 6. (Oh and did I meantion in the process got my mom and sister hooked, and my DAD to read the whole saga as well! Thats how obsessed I was.)

I am curious to see how I am when it comes to New Moon, now having read all the books and knowing whats missing. I hope I'll be much more satisfised than I was with Half Blood Prince, thats for sure! :]]

twilight was the best i fell in love with it straight away i watched the movie first i thought that was pretty good but then i went to the book as i had heard that it is so much better and it is i couldnt put all four down one after another. i didnt like the movie as much when i watched it again as i compaired it to the book and was dissapointed how they changed it so much i.e the way they have there first kiss and when she meets the cullens there not ment to go into the trees i think the movie could of been so much better but i still love it greatsest movie in history !!! even better book !!

Scary movie, not my kind of movie.
