One of everyone’s favorite actors is turning 43 today, and there’s no doubt that some internet hi-jinks will ensue as a result.
Ryan Reynolds is the man of the hour, and since he’s infamous for trolling other celebrities (and his wife, actress Blake Lively) on their special days, we can expect some hilarious shenanigans from Lively and two of his other frequent targets — Hugh Jackman and Josh Brolin — at the very least. I mean, if I were Lively, I would definitely think up something extra embarrassing to get him back for this, um, unflattering photo gallery that he posted on her birthday.
As it turns out, some Reynolds weirdness has already gone down this week. Have you seen the clip where actress Kate Beckinsale tries to convince Jimmy Fallon that she and Reynolds are lookalikes? In a now-expired Instagram Story, Reynolds responded with a most excellently Photoshopped poster for a movie where they star together as twins, à la Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
In addition to stalking celebrities’ feeds to see who says or does what to Reynolds for his birthday, his fans will of course use the occasion as an excuse to celebrate with one of his movies. What I personally love about him is that he can star in absolutely raunchy (smart and clever … but still totally raunchy) hits like Deadpool and Deadpool 2, but then also turn around and lend his sarcastic voice to kids’ movies like Turbo or Detective Pikachu… and it all somehow still works.
We’ve got a ton of Reynolds’ movies at the Box and On Demand, so you have lots of options to choose from should you choose to honor his birthday in this way. We’re also excited about the projects he has coming up, including the Michael Bay action thriller 6 Underground due out in December, as well as next year’s sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard and Free Guy, a comedy where Ryan’s character realizes he’s living in an open-world video game that’s about to go offline.
Happy birthday, Ryan! We can’t wait to see how you get your revenge on whoever pranks you today.
