This is it, guys and gals: the end of 2018 is nigh. I don’t know about you, but I’m exhausted … and the most intense part of the holiday season isn’t even here yet. That’s why I plan to escape with a good movie or five as often as I can. It’s self-care!

Here are three movies new to the Box in December that I’m especially looking forward to:

Mission: Impossible – Fallout – Death. Taxes. Tom Cruise running. These are the only three things you can count on in this life. You’ll get lots and lots of that last one in the latest Mission: Impossible installment. Not only does Cruise — aka agent Ethan Hawke — run a lot in it, but he also rides a motorcycle through oncoming traffic in Paris, dangles from a helicopter, scales cliffsides and leaps across rooftops, all in the name of stopping terrorists from getting their hands on nuclear weapons. See why so many movie fans think this is the best Mission: Impossible chapter yet.

Smallfoot – I can’t wait to watch this sweet tale with my kids … oh, who am I kidding? The reality is I can’t wait to let my kids watch this sweet animated movie so that I finally have some time to run around behind them cleaning and organizing and getting ready for end-of-the-year festivities. But I know they’ll enjoy seeing how Migo (voiced by Channing Tatum) the Yeti approaches his mission of trying to capture a human in order to prove to the rest of his kind that humans exist (and avoid being banished for telling lies). James Corden, Zendaya, Common, LeBron James and Danny DeVito are just a few other big-name stars in this incredible voice cast!

The Equalizer 2 – Denzel in December — yes, please and thank you. In this sequel, Washington once again plays spy Robert McCall and is once again a badass. When his friend and colleague is murdered, he’s out for revenge, but a team of assassins is now after him. It’s a nail-biting action-thriller, but even despite A TEAM OF ASSASSINS BEING AFTER HIM, I would never bet against Denzel.
