Destiny 2 is here — and it’s a brand new game. If you’re new to the scene (or you just need a refresher), allow us to bring you up to speed.
About the Game
In the original first-person shooter game, the Collapse put an end to the Golden Age, and the surviving Guardians on Earth were charged with saving the Last City from the forces of the Darkness while they attempted to revive the Traveler, a mysterious celestial sphere that hung over the embattled Earth.
In Destiny 2, this city has fallen to Ghaul, commander of a brutal invasion force. Stripped of their power, the fleeing Guardians must discover a new arsenal of weapons from uncharted worlds in the solar system.
At a recent presentation introducing the game, director Luke Smith promised “a world that pulls you in, amazing things to do, and always someone to play with.”
- Guided Games, a feature of Destiny 2 that will allow players to join an established clan in need of a player or two, an improvement over the original game.
- Players no longer have to go into orbit (and suffer longer loading times) to launch activities. Score!
- Interactive maps, new locations on four planets (Earth, Titan, Io, and Nessus), and dungeons called Lost Sectors.
