New to the Box is Ghost in the Shell, which stars Scarlett Johansson as a cyborg supersoldier who spectacularly fights her way through a dystopian future on a mission to discover the truth about her past.

She kicks soooooo much butt in this movie (based on the Japanese anime/manga series of the same name) that it inspired us to highlight a few other women who are currently rocking the box.

Dafne Keen Hugh Jackman’s great and all, but WOW. The young Dafne Keen is on another level in Logan. She totally holds her own as a young mutant on the run with Jackman’s Wolverine. She fights just as viciously as he does — maybe even better at times — but might also be just as moody. Her performance will blow you away. (Or should we have said, “her performance has claws”? Groan.)

Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis and Christina Applegate There’s more than one way women can slay all day. On the opposite side of the spectrum from Scarlett and Dafne, we have Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis and Christina Applegate in Bad Moms, who aren’t physically fighting any enemies, but still doing what they need to do to survive. Survive what?  The adventure that is parenting — and dealing with other moms. And do you hear what I hear? A Bad Moms Christmas will be in theaters this November!

Gemma Arterton And finally we have Gemma Arterton as Catrin Cole in Their Finest, which is one of those movies you might not have heard of, but is exceedingly funny and charming and worth seeing. Catrin is a screenwriter hired by the British government to write the female characters’ dialogue in propaganda films meant to boost morale and convince the U.S. to join the Allies in WWII. Except that Cole is so good at what she does that she just might up ending stealing the show. Keep calm and rock on!
