Xbox Giveaway[2]This giveaway has ended. Thanks for participating! We’ll announce the winner soon. In the meantime, check back for another great giveaway launching tomorrow!

Ah, video games. We love ‘em here at Redbox because they’re just like movies in one really important way: they provide the best kind of escapism! One minute you’re chillin’ on your couch after a long day at work, the next you’re leading the fight against an alien invasion . . . or battling through the zombie apocalypse . . . or flying through a fantasy world. There’s nothing you can’t do.

That’s why this week we’re giving you the chance to win unlimited escapism in the form of an Xbox 360 (Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $249.99)!

For your shot at the prize, all you have to do is tell us in the comments section below:

What’s the first video game you ever played?

Be sure to enter by 3 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 30, when we’ll select one winner at random. The basic rules are below. (To review all the Official Rules, just click the link.)

And here’s even more good news: Redbox Instant by Verizon is already available on Xbox 360, and it’s coming to Xbox One on November 22!

Anyone who leaves an email address in the main comment field will be disqualified and their entry will not be published. We’ve had past winners who’ve used non-working email addresses, in which case we have no way of contacting them and had to give their prizes to someone else. So double-check what you’ve entered!

The first game I played was Pong. Sometimes I miss those paddles. It was easier to control than my fingers on a touch screen.

Pac-Man was my first. I have never been more proud to eat a bunch of fruit and ghosts all in one sitting! I could still play that game today!

My uncle had pong. The best part was that if you wanted pong in color there was a piece of colored film you put over the screen!

Sunset Riders would probably be my first arcade game, but I think I might have played Tetris before then.

The first video game I played was the original Super Mario Brothers on Nintendo. Still a classic game that even my kids play now.

I have played so many games but the first one is a combination of one. Mario bros/duck hunt cartridge for original Nintendo. I remember putting it in and it not working so you had to take it blow into the machine and the game to get it to work. Once it started to work I was lost in the game. I feel the best feeling was when you found the first warp room. I still own a Nintendo system and try to play the original Mario bros as much as I can.
