Sure, Jack Black is best known for his hilarious antics in movies like School of Rock, or as the voice of Po in Kung Fu Panda, but did you know he’s got more than just comedic chops? His performance in the true-story dramedy Bernie is being hailed by critics as nothing short of stupendous.

Don’t believe me? Believe Roger Ebert! Here’s a snippet from Ebert’s rave review of Bernie: “Jack Black plays an east Texas funeral director named Bernie Tiede, and it is surely one of the performances of the year. I had to forget what I knew about Black. He creates this character out of thin air, it’s like nothing he’s done before, and it proves that an actor can be a miraculous thing in the right role.”

See what all the fuss is about! In this week’s giveaway, five Redbox fans have a chance to win themselves a Bernie DVD (Average Retail Value (“ARV”): $20.99), a poster from the movie signed by Jack Black and Shirley MacLaine (ARV: $10.00), the Bernie soundtrack (ARV: $16.99) and three movie postcards (ARV: $3.00)!

Steve Martin was awesome in a dramatic role in “Grand Canyon” years ago; he could do it again!

Personally, I think that Stephen Colbert would do a great job in a drama.
