I told you we had a huge giveaway coming this week, and you’re about to see that I wasn’t lying! In celebration of the release of NBA 2K12 for the Xbox, PS3 and Wii, we’ll be giving three lucky winners a copy of the game for the platform of their choice (Average Retail Value (ARV) of each: $60). AND each of those three winners is also going to be the proud new owner of one of the following spectacular pieces of NBA memorabilia:

  • A Michael Jordan jersey (ARV: $300),
  • A basketball signed by Magic Johnson (ARV: $300), with a Lakers t-shirt thrown in (ARV: $50), or
  • A basketball signed by Larry Bird (ARV: $300), with a Celtics t-shirt thrown in (ARV: $50)

Pictures of the spectacular memorabilia items and the basic rules* are below, as is a link to the full Official Rules, which you must follow very, very carefully in order for your entry to be eligible. You’ll see the fun part of entering involves sharing your favorite basketball memory of all time!

We’re going to be keeping this contest open for a full week, and will pick three winners at random next Friday, October 14 after 3 PM ET.

Here’s the Michael Jordan jersey:

*The basic rules:

  • Only one entry per person.
  • In the comment field below this post, share your all-time favorite basketball memory.
  • MAKE SURE you leave your correct email address in the email address field ONLY—this will not be published on the site, but we’ll be able to see it and will need it to contact you if you win. Anyone who leaves an email address in the main comment field will be disqualified and their entry will not be published. We’ve had past winners who’ve used non-working email addresses, in which case we have no way of contacting them and had to give their prizes to someone else. So double-check what you’ve entered!
  • You must live in 1 of the 50 United States, DC, or Puerto Rico, and be at least the age of majority in your state / jurisdiction of primary residence.
  • Enter before 3:00:00 PM Eastern Time, Friday, October 14, 2011. We will select three winners at random after that time and will post their names here on the blog in addition to sending email notification. Winners will not get to choose which memorabilia item they receive, but they will be able to select the gaming platform for their copy of NBA 2K12.
  • Your comment must comply with the Comment Requirements in the Official Rules, which you agree to by submitting a comment.
  • Total ARV of all prizes: $1180.
  • Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received.

My all-time favorite basketball memory is going to my first game with my friend and our dad’s. It was quite an adventure. Years later I still get excited when I see the stars of that game playing on new teams and at higher levels. I’ll never forget that wonderful night.

I miss watching Michael take control of the game. I don’t think I have watched a complete game since he retired.

Michael Jordan changed the game and has been my favorite player of all time. My favorite basketball memory is when Jordan hit the last shot against Utah Jazz, it was so picture perfect.

I was at Fenway Park to see the Celtics celebrate their championship in 2008. They had all the Celtics on duck boats with the trophy and the went around rhe field on the warning track. Truly magical! All the Red Sox players stood at the top of the dugout to cheer the Celtics!

My favorite Basketball memory is Carmelo Anthony winning the National Championship for my beloved Syracuse Orange in 2003. Not only did he win for our community and everyone involved in Syracuse University, he won Jim Boeheim’s only National Championship. That will forever be my favorite basketball memory.

Nba finals, Jordan strips Malone, dribbles down the court, 16 seconds left Bulls down by 1. Jordan defended by Russell, 12 seconds, 11 seconds, Jordan drives to the lane, stops, pulls up and drops in the game winning jumper!!

Watching Michael Jordan in the “Flu Game”. How someone can put up 38 points in a game is a feat but having to battle the Jazz and the flu just makes it that much more impressive!

My favorite memory is watching the Orlando Magic assemble the “super team” back in the mid 1990′s. Shaq, Penny, Horace, Nick, and 3D… Man, were they fun to watch. I figured multiple championships were in the future for the Magic. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out exactly that way. :-(
