Go Under the Big Top with RPattz and Reese in the Water for Elephants Trailer

I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve never read Water for Elephants, the best-selling 2006 novel by Sara Gruen about a Depression-era traveling circus. I think I was worried that it was going to bring back flashbacks of Dumbo or something — I don’t like it when animals are treated badly in movies. And truth be told, I’ve never been a big fan of circuses for that same reason: fear of what goes on behind the scenes.

But the trailer for the book’s adaptation is stunning, and leads me to believe the film could be great. So now I have to decide whether I try to read the source material beforehand or just go in blind on April 15. What do you think?

Who’s read the book and can chime in on how they’re feeling about the preview? Are the characters what you imagined? Can you see RPattz as anything other than Edward Cullen? Inquiring minds want to know!

What’s kind of funny (to me… but maybe not to those who don’t obsess over celeb gossip) is that both Water for Elephants and Source Code (starring Reese’s ex, Jake Gyllenhaal) open on the same day.  Bring on the Battle of the Exes!

I’m excited about the cast that’s in this, especially Christopher Waltz, who I absolutely loved in Inglorius Basterdz.

It’s Christoph Waltz, but I’ll forgive you :3 Looks like something I’d watch though. See if Pattinson doesn’t suck in everything he does (suck, get it? he played a vamp. haha I kill myself)

I loved the book, and Reese Witherspoon is absolutely perfect for the part – can’t wait for the movie. (read the book, first – you won’t regret it)

The book has been on my list forever and I finally read it when I heard this was coming out. It looks like they’ve changed the love story a bit and I bet they downplay the older man’s role but I’m still in line for the show. Book is excellent read, if you don’t mind some risque parts at the beginning.
