The Freeze Frame Answers and Winners

Congrats are in order for 2sa, who knew that Friday’s Freeze Frame films were The Hours, Little Women, and Stardust (a favorite of a lot of our readers out there). 2sa now gets to assemble the finest aluminum-foil trophy you ever did see.  It will be hard work, but so, so worth it in the end — right, 2sa?  Don’t forget to send in a picture of the finished product!

Close behind 2sa in second place was Reader Who Rocks Doug, followed by his fellow Reader Who Rocks Donna, whom I’ve missed around the site lately.  Great job to both of you!

2sa, Doug, and Donna also knew that the link between the trio of movies was the actress Claire Danes. Linda Pathammavong, Tammy Lochridge, and Mary got the common thread right as well, and so the whole lot gets to craft Pins o’ Pride for themselves.

To me, Danes will always, always, always be Angela Chase from My So-Called Life.  That show was simply too big a part of my formative years to be able to think of her as anyone else. I chose her to revolve the contest around this week because she’s in two redbox movies: Me and Orson Welles and the Emmy-winning Temple Grandin. If you watched the Emmy Awards a few weeks ago, you know that Temple Grandin took home the Best Made for Television Movie statuette, and Danes won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for her portrayal of the title character. Rayanne would be, like, totally jealous because Jordan Catalano would for sure want to date Angela now!

  • Danes probably gave teen-star advice to Zac Efron on the set of Me and Orson Welles, don’t you think? Reserve a copy of Me and Orson Welles.
  • See what all the Emmy fuss is about!  Reserve a copy of Temple Grandin.

I always associate Claire Danes with Angela Chase as well (same thing with Jared Leto/Jordan Catalano). I’m still sad they canceled that show, argh!
