Attention, redblog fans and friends: We’ve got big, big, BIG news!
Redbox hit 1 BILLION RENTALS over the holiday weekend, and it’s because of movie lovers like you! (And as movie lovers, you definitely thought of Dr. Evil when you just read ’1 billllliiion‘ in that last sentence, didn’t you?)
What’s more, this here blog is now two years old. Redblog’s second birthday… redbox’s 1 billionth rental… you decide what’s a bigger deal, m’kay?
Anywhoooo, as a way of saying thanks, redbox is giving away lots of prizes, including a free one-night DVD rental for everyone who rents in September. Yes, you read that correctly, folks.
Jump over to the Thanks a Billion web site for more details, and then stay tuned for a heck of a lot of celebrating across redblog, the redbox Facebook fan page, and the redbox Twitter feed for the rest of September!

With a family of five it gets pricey to take everyone to the movies. With the redbox we can afford to stay in, order some takeout and take in a couple of movies.

Love your service…makes family entertainment affordable! Mom

Being a full-time student, I rarely have the time to go to the movies…having the $10 to $15 to go is even MORE rare! For the same money, more comfort (being my own home), and having my own schedule (I can start or stop the movie any time I want – so what if it’s a little control-freakish!) I can enjoy 3 or 4 movies (or at least listen to them while doing homework).

Great job guys. Finally affordable movies for families to watch. Congratulations on your Billion. Just think now, for your Trillion you should give away a RedBox. LOL Keep it up.

We have really enjoyed redbox. At times we will get 5 movies at a time, and make it a movie marathon. Being able to order on line, getting new releases as soon as they come out, makes it so easy. Talk about cheap entertainment, you can’t go wrong with redbox. Thank you for such a great service.

I love the redbox. It is located close to the school where I teach. I use it as a reward for good behavior within my classroom. I also use it as a reward with my own child! Way to go redbox! I love when I receive a promotion code!

Who are the winners of Thanks A Billion???

How are you making money? The movies are not in the machines long enough to pay for themselves and the overhead. When are the prices going to go up? I know they will not stay $1 now that Movie Gallery, Hollywood Video are both gone and Blockbuster in court with Bankruptcy. Would just like to know when is the increase and what will the price cap Be? $5 a night?

So Redbox heard my suggestion by adding Blu Ray movies at my area, here in culver city. I am so happy about it. Now, i have upgrade my unit to 3D, I will be suggesting again if they can start vending 3d movies. Genius!

i love the prices you put on the movies i honestly think you make more money having low prices than having high prices like other places to rent movies …in other words i hope you never change redbox 1 dollar movies are the AWESOME!!!

Well, black Friday has come and gone, and I am sure I am not the only fortunate soul who was able to upgrade to 3D!!! Unfortunately, I did not consider that much like any other movie I watch, with the exception of a few, I want to be able to rent 3D movies, and not have to buy a movie I will only watch a time or two!!! Please come to the rescue redbox, make 3D available for rent!!!
