What Movie Would You Live Inside Of?

The Back-Up PlanThis summer we hit the road with absolutely no back-up plan. That’s right. When we’re done shooting State Fair we have no idea where we’re going to live or what we’re going to do. We’re not even counting on the tired “I guess we can live with our parents if we have to” mentality. Nope, we’re wild, free, and a little bit anxious.

Seems fitting, then, that I forced Chris into watching this week’s new redbox release, The Back-up Plan. It was full of the typical Jennifer Lopez high jinks, and didn’t exactly dig too deeply on all things life and love, but it got us thinking… if we could live any movie life as a Plan B, which would it be?

Here’s our top five:

Avatar: If you’re gonna have a Plan B, it should be a Plan B to beat all other Bs. Of Avatarcourse I’d want to live the life of Avatar BEFORE all the bad US soldiers come in and blow the place up, and not after. Besides, blue is my best color and matches my eyes.

The Blind Side: No, Chris wouldn’t end up playing college football in this scenario. Instead, we’d be the winsome couple who did good by inviting a stranger into our home. We’d have the inner satisfaction of having given back, plus we’d be in line for some 50-yard-line football tickets. A bonus? Living in that gorgeous Southern house instead of a series of random hotel rooms like we’re doing now.

The Last Song: I’m a sap, so I’ve seen every one of Nicholas Sparks’ masterpieces. Chris, however, thinks they’re drivel. Which means I’m going to compromise on this Plan B by allowing him to play the role of Miley Cyrus.

Couples RetreatCouples Retreat: I can see it now: white sandy beaches, hot yoga instructors, dance parties on the other side of the island. Of course, we’d have to break up a few times and get back together again, but it would be worth it all for a sweet bungalow on the water.

The Hangover: When in doubt, go to Las Vegas. And when you go to Las Vegas, go big.

If you could live any movie, what would you choose?

(And while we’re on this topic, be sure to check out the redblog Readers Who Rock interviews — Erika always asks the honorees this same question… and has gotten some very interesting responses!)

Mine would definitely be Serenity. I love the crew, and could totally pull off plucky comedy relief.

Yeah, but then you’d have to be gored at the end with no warning at all, thus devastating millions of fans… and no one wants that.
