The redblog Oscar® Polls: Best Actress

by | Mar 4th, 2010 | 10:00AM | Filed under: Award Shows, For Your Consideration

It’s Oscar® Week and we want to hear what you folks are
thinking.

All week we’ll give you a chance to get your two-cents worth in on
the top-ten major Oscar categories–and to sharpen your picks for the
office pool. We’ll run two different category polls each day, one in the
morning and one in the afternoon. Monday was Best Original Screenplay in the morning and Best
Adapted Screenplay
. Tuesday was Best Song and Animated
Feature
and yesterday was Best Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress.
This morning is Best Actress, with Best Actor later this afternoon. Director and Best Picture will be Friday.

Each of the categories will have two separate polls: one for who you
WANT to win, and one for who you think WILL win. And if you have a
theory to back up your preferences and picks, by all means share them
with us in the comments.

I’m pickin’ Bullock for this one. The performance was good enough to get her in and I think we are going the way of Julia Roberts’ Oscar…the Academy will think it’s her time. Ah, movie politics.

A tough call between Bullock and Streep…On Sunday night, I’ll be rooting for both of these women and I’ll be happy if either of them win.
I’ll be most likely rooting for Streep because she does deserve award for Julie & Julia, her performance was excellent and plus she portrayed an icon Julia Child. Bullock also deserve the award but I don’t know who should win on that night.
I did see Julie & Julia, The Blind Side in theatres and they were both great movies and to me, they were both Oscar-worthy.
Bullock and Streep seem like they are the frontrunners for Best Actress. I’m getting anxious for the big night!
