Greetings!
Welcome to redblog™, the official blog of redbox®. It’s likely you’re already a fan of redbox®, your source for "easy $1 DVD rentals™." You may rent DVDs from one of the thousands of redbox locations in the US, use redbox.com to reserve movies, or get the weekly redbox email blast updating you on all the newest and bestest DVDs. Then again, maybe you just thought "redblog" seemed like an interesting search term… Either way, here you are!
Redblog is for you. There are some pros here reviewing movies past and present, tracking film industry buzz, opining on movie news, dishing on Hollywood gossip, and maybe even challenging you a bit from time to time. So where do you fit in? Well, you’re key to it all. We hope you’ll be coming back to catch the newest posts (check throughout the day), to comment and share your opinions, to read what others think, and let the rest of us know the real truth as you see it! It’s time to engage, friend, and take your redbox love to the next level!
So, let’s introduce two of the redblog writers: James Rocchi and Erika Olson.
James is the illustrious movie critic, based in the heart of the movie world, Los Angeles. He’s been reviewing movies professionally for nearly a decade for the likes of Netflix®, AOL’s Cinematical.com, and AMC TV. His favorite kind of movie is "a good one," and he’s no snob about genres or budgets or a filmmaker’s track record. He’s even said "I’m not a snob" out loud on occasion. Seriously, according to James, "A well-told story is a well-told story." And ain’t that the truth! It’s this kind of attitude that makes James a great contributor to redblog. Learn more about James here.
Erika Olson brings you DVD reviews, celebrity gossip, and oh so much more. She’s so crazed about this stuff that the theme of her wedding reception was "Famous Movie Couples," and she’s got an entire room at home dedicated to her favorite flicks. Erika hails from the Windy City, has been analyzing the TV series Lost in alarming detail for years on longlivelocke.com, and expounds on all kinds of entertaining stuff on "According to e." Did you catch the bit about her being crazy? Just the right perspective for redblog, don’t you think? Learn more about Erika (aka "e") here.
So, without further ado… Onward! Check back often, ‘cause the posts go up multiple times every day. And please share your thoughts, whether it’s to take a different view on something or to just say "wow, it’s like you’ve seen into my soul! I think I’m in love." Let us know!
Blog on!

Redbox is one of the greatest toys in DVDLand, no doubt. New Releases for a dollar, sweet! One of the worst things to see on a DVD cover is “nothing can prepare you for the final triple-twist ending”. Well, yeah. There is. That stupid snippet of a review on the box. Thanks, now I’ll wait for cable and rent this other movie. A good review should A)Make me want to rent/buy/watch the movie and B) not reveal anything about the plot. Why do so many so-called reviewers spend paragraph after paragraph writing with enough details to spoil the whole idea of even thinking about renting the movie? There are some really bad writing out there and they’re getting paid too. If reviews matter, why does this happen? This is my first time here and so far I have NOT seen anything like I have described. The trailers are great. But could you try and explain why the other happens so often? Thank You! (I am an aspiring copywriter and I know I could do a great job in this arena. I love good movies. And good reviews!)Be good.
